What would have been Jasons power if he released alongside his classic slasher brothers in early dbd
DBD has been here for quite some time with it being released in 2016. Myers was the first license killer in 2016 then Leatherface and Freddy in 2017. Kind of crazy how the first 3 license chapters were classic iconic slashers. You would expect the pattern to have continued with Jason coming out but due to the infamous rights battles he hasn't been anywhere but hypothetically that didnt exist and he was the next one right after Freddy what would his power been? Early DBD power design was simple Myers stares fills meter instadown, bubba has a chain saw, Freddy original power was also simple just bad but really thematically done well with not being able to m1 unless they were asleep. What do you guys think he would of been like.

I can see the rage meter being his simple power but not the teleporting. Early dbd killers had no mobility. Wasent till demogorgon till you can teleport across areas. Pig and ghostface would have been next in this hypothetical timeline and they have no mobility
The Hag teleports and she was released in 2016 so they could have definitely given Jason mobility.

Well. Youd have to wonder if theyd have given him his iconic machete or any of the other bunch of weapons he uses. Maybe he wouldve gotten something to do with a spear, like carrying around a machete for m1s and m2s were like a running strike with a spear that could go through multiple survivors, not to instadown but take 1 healthstate or down if injured thing.
Or even being able switch between 2 m2 weapons instead of mobility powers
I feel like Jason's lacknof a real MO would mean he would have to be a stealth killer with some kind of grab that has a limited time to interact with objects nearby for different effects.
Having unique interactions to exploit the world around him to injure and maim is the thing that makes sense to me for Jason and his huge repertoire of different kills.
I've always hated Jason teleport in the Ft13th game, because I don't personally attribute Jason to having the ability to teleport at all. I consider a teleport to be a cheat on Jason, same as I do Myers. It's never expressly shown, and if they genuinely had a teleport, there are far too many examples where it doesn't make sense they wouldn't use it to catch their respective last girls, and it harms the original films too much.
Any instance he could be said to teleport is pretty much the result of schlock writing in the later films to my mind. Their ability to pop out of nowhere is always portrayed as having uncanny stealth and the ability to perfectly stalk and predict their prey... but as I say, it's dependent on the skill of the writer/editor as to how much sense it makes.
Pretty much everything from Jason in Manhattan onwards to me is sequel slop that harm's the original idea to the point I basically consider it a goofy mess that might be fun, but has to be non-canon. Also screw Part 5 as well.
Jason X was actually decent prior to RoboJason, and his portrayal in Freddy vs. Jason was very good. No real jokes at his expense... if they made Freddy less slapstick comedy and took him more seriously, that film would be one of the best Jason movies ever made.
