Ghostface needs a buff.

So i put about 1000 hour exclusively into Ghostface right now, Maining him grinding him to very high prestige, i only face SWF at this point and i thought he was okay , a decent killer because i felt like i kill at will with him still, i rarely lose a match regardless of opposing teams HOWEVER. I have picked up The Wrath lately and been playing him and even tho he is in the middle of the pack tier killer i absolutely slaughter everything coming my way , If i dont win with 5 gens against SWFs i feel like i lost.

It occured to me that Ghostface actually sucks and require immense attention, thinking, hearing, every single detail that sort of left you tired in your head after a few games if you know what i mean. I have played other killers too but i decided i am going to become good at another and not just play them half serious so now ive been doing that with The Wrath and you can do literally whatever you want with these survivors.

Now maybe me playing 1000 hour on a bottom tier killer has helped me develop my game sense a lot so that this is my personal feeling but it just seems to me that one has to tune up Ghostface a little bit.

Ive also faced Ghostface as survivor a few times and those matches has been won pretty easily as Survivor , he is far from as oppressive as other killers such as blight, Nurse, Wrath, huntress etc.

  • Just to ensure I’m understanding your position correctly, you are very successful with Ghostface and have admitted that you rarely lose any of your games regardless of who you are facing. You want buffs— not because you can’t win most of your matches with Ghostface but because you can win your matches with 5 gens remaining as Wraith?

I’m just trying to understand what you mean exactly, because from the sound of your post you’re not saying Ghostface is weak, only that it takes more skill to use him? Would you like Ghostfaces ability to be more similar to Wraith? I find when playing Wraith that one of his biggest strengths is the speed in addition to the stealth. Do you think increasing Ghostfaces speed when he is stalking is the kind of buff that would make him feel better to play?

  • Ghostface definitely deserves some buffs. I think they should add drop-leg knife sheath fully basekit along with the long overdue fix for the reveal mechanic. I feel that’s what’s his biggest issue, it’s so inconsistent on both sides where I’ll stare directly at a ghostface for 5 seconds and it won’t kick him out of power and when I play as ghostface I’m getting revealed from the next town over. I’d also buff his crouch speed to 4.4 to make his stealth better.

  • When you compare what other killers have in their kits, gf is a joke. He needs to have the drop leg knife sheath entirely basekit at the very least.

I understand your point and how its sounds like a contradiction, i do not want to come of as a prick but lets just say i know how to play games on a very high level in general, i have issues okay.

Why i think he needs to be buffed is because it is so evident that other killers are far superior than Ghostface and that isnt right. Just because i manage to kill everything with it does not mean that the average player who want to come and play for fun and have a good time will.

Things that i feel would make Ghostface in line with other stronger killers is to make drop a knife basekit and possibly even Dricers license (because ghostface does not have the same map pressure as others. it should be Impossible for someone to reveal ghostface while stalking that specific person (must be leaning ) its okay if other people can do it but not the ones who are being stalked. People on hooks should not be able to reveal ghostface and people on the ground should have a 3 second timer to be able to reveal ghostface and when those dying survivors on the ground start to reveal ghostface then the killer should be notified so he can escape.

This sums up most of the killer takes on this forum.

Well that is the standard i put on myself. If i am 2500 rating in arena and have over 10 losses i am also dissapointed in myself and my performance. Mind you i also play Survival and have about 70-80% escape rate in soloQ.

Gotcha, thanks for explaining your position in a little more detail.

Personally I wouldn’t mind some buffs to Ghostface, just to make him a bit more beginner friendly. I don’t agree with everything you’ve suggested but I do think being able to reveal the survivor you’re actively chasing is strange. You just kind of have a stare down some times and it can break the immersion a bit.

Even though I don’t necessarily agree with everything I appreciate your clarity and sharing your opinion. 😊

  • Need a buff? He needs to be fixed with his forever bugged revealing. He is fine not every killer needs to be s broken specially an instant down killer.

  • Your mmr for each killer is independent. This means that your Ghost Face mmr is high (this is why you get strong opponents) but your Wraith mmr was low when you started playing him.

Because you played a lot of one killer, you have good fundamentals - skills that are good for all killers. But, since your Wraith MMR was low, you got put against low skill opponents. That's probably part of why he felt so strong, you were going against enemies that were a lot weaker than you

Ghostface needs a buff sure, but i think Trapper needs one first, Imagine if the all the killers were forced to go and pick up their power all over the map.

As a P100 Trapper, trust me, you do not want him to start off with all his traps. Trapper Sack is one of his strongest add ons for a reason, and it aint a good one.

When you want to break him out, stare straight at him, does nothing.

When you don't think you're going to break him out, barely take a glance at him, immediate break out.

Center screen or not, still a pain to stare him straight down and you get exposed haha.

While i also thought about your aspect of this , its not potatocans i meet on Wrath he is P10 right now and ive been playing him exclusively to get there basically 4king every match ive lost 2 last night tho when i was a bit braindead and tired after a long grind, but its only SWFs i meet on him now as well too but he is much stronger there is no denying, A lot more forgiving in all aspects.

ive been running 2 builds on him lately that i think is pretty strong.

Surge/Painress/friends till the end/ make your choice
Surge/dissolution/friends till the end/Make your choice

With this build i basically 1shot everyone because i do have the time to catch up to whomever unhook or gets exposed even tho i can hold pressure on the entire map and have everyone wounded most of the times. Usually people heal up before they go for hook but then they get exposed for 60 seconds for insta down.

Only real "counterplay" seem to be for survivors to stand around at pallet while you are invisible but thats why i been running dissolution for a little bit.
