Ideas to make DBD less frustrating
Here's a bunch of ideas to make DBD less frustrating for both sides. I've put the simple ideas that would be easy to implement first, but I also have some pretty serious and more complicated ideas too.
- Survivors that have crows over their heads no longer have collision with other survivors or the killer.
- Add a button for survivors to skip the sacrifice animation and immediately go to post game screen. This would works for all kinds of deaths, including Moris, Hook-Sacrifice, or EGC sacrifice
- If 5 minutes have passed without a single generator being completed, the killer will get 3 seconds of killer instinct on the closest survivor to them, every 2 minutes
- Hatch will automatically close 60 seconds after it spawns
Now I've got two big ideas. This first big idea is aimed to tackle killers that bleed out for 4 minutes instead of hooking. There are many ways to do this, but letting survivors vote to "give up" like mentioned here is an option
- When all survivors have been downed or hooked for 30 seconds with no second chance or self unhook perks, and without the killer having hooked someone in 30 seconds, they can vote to give up. If all four survivors vote yes, they are all immediately sacrificed as if they were hooked
- This one is complicated and could get in the way of certain achievements or challenges. Note that it would need 4/4 survivor votes and would only be available when there was no self pickups, no DS active, no active Deliverance, etc.
This last one is aimed to make a 3k feel more like a win for killer, as well as give both losing killers and the final survivor a quick and easy way out to give up and end the game if they want to give up
- Once the EGC has started, or there is only 1 survivor still living, a "Dark Glyph" spawns in the basement. Killers can interact with this "Dark Glyph" to instantly end the match, giving up and letting every remaining, living survivor escape. If you are the last survivor, you will also see the "Dark Glyph" and you can interact with it, though this will instantly sacrifice yourself
- I think this could be an amazing way to make losses feel less painful for the killer if all the survivors are waiting at gates. On the flipside, it could also solidify a 3k as a win for killer, especially if there was some bonus reward for interacting with this Dark Glyph after killing 3 survivors so there was little point in hunting down the last survivor. It would also give the last survivor a graceful way to give up if gates spawn incredibly close to each other and hatch is closed, or they just don't feel like trying to get an escape and just want to leave the game as fast as possible
- The downside is that it is a little boring and could lead to less interaction and fun between the killers and survivors. Personally though, I would love it if this was implemented as it would save tons of time on both sides.
What do you all think about these ideas? Do you feel that they fix a problem or a pain point with the game, or would they just be unnecessary and bad?

"Idea to make game less frustrating for survivors" should be the title.
Nah, it's for killers too. I'd appreciate the killer instinct if survivors were just hiding all game, as well as the ability to leave the match using the basement glyph if survivors are just waiting at gates.
I appreciated devs adding feature that hatch doesnt spawn after all gens are done and i kill 3 survivors but it aint gonna happen cause devs dont care that much about killers.
This feels even more relevant now after the whole incident with the spirit player bodyblocking a survivor after the last 2 survivors hid for 15 minutes.
If killer instinct activated after 5 minutes and revealed the nearest survivor for a few seconds every 2 minutes, this kind of hiding could be prevented. And if crows removed survivors collision with other survivors and the killer, the bodyblocking could be prevented. I don't think these changes are too drastic at all to avoid situations like this.
