What am I supposed to do

So let's say your facing a killer the team is just getting destroyed and I mean like one gen was done and almost everyone has been hooked twice. Now here's the thing I haven't been hooked because I learned to basically use the environment and to get off objectives if I notice the killer is coming towards me and so I wasn't hooked because one I learned in solo que you need to focus on yourself since most players will leave you to die. So imagine two people dead and four gens are left I still try doing the gens going for one's near the edge of the map as killers won't go there as often when my teammate goes down their on death hook so I just simple choose to get one off the gen because if that gen is done the killer will know my location. Then all of a sudden my teammate gets off the killer's shoulders and surprise they start working together to kill me. I wasn't being Dwight where even the found of the heartbeat I bolt it I know to look around first if the killer is coming towards me then I know to act smart and get a move on and I was still trying to rescue my team. But nope looks like since I wasn't hooked once since I was doing more stealth because I didn't want to die or get caught super easily I deserve to basically be called out and left on hook.

So now we come to the main question what am I supposed to do four gens are left and two people remain unless the killer's controller if they have one runs out of juice for the amount of time it would take to repair four gens we are not surviving. The problem I have is if I try focusing on myself rather then my team I get killed if I focus on my team rather then myself I'm then abandoned by set team. What I am supposed to do because the DBD bibble really doesn't give me much info on how to act in solo que.

  • Well first, working with the killer is reportable so that's an option for you in that scenario.

In general, you want your team mates to stay alive as long as possible. That increases your chances of escape. If everyone is 2 hooked and you haven't been hooked once, that's probably your cue to seek out the killer and use your hook states to buy time for the team.

I did report working with the killer is maybe the one thing I'll ever report because I get my fun isn't their priority but if they decide to do that congratulations you've just ruined the game.

  • Yeah, reporting them is the only option, but it's typically the survivor that I report since most of that behavior originates from them. I've had cases of the problem as both survivor and killer, but my best example was when a group of survivors were trying to rat out their Mikaela since she was never hooked once the entire game when she's been the main one doing gens, unhooking, and healing teammates while the rest of her team just kept following me around to get saves and kept failing which wasted their time frustrating them to the point of blaming their Mikaela so, after I saw that happen, I made sure to kill those "bad apples" in the lobby, gave the Mikaela hatch after downing her since she got stuck with horrible teammates, and then proceeeded to report the other survivors while they kept sending me salty messages making up excuse after excuse for their bad behavior.

I have to say that most of the time that won't work- If the killer knows that everyone is on death hook they'll likely ignore the one person that isn't on death hook since 1) it'll start slowing the survivors down with each elimination and 2) they won't be able to be unhooked like that one survivor is.

  • Take chases for your team, or you'll never escape games if you only focus on your own survival and ignore everyone else taking the initial chases or hook saves while you hide and do only gens. What you're putting yourself in is a position to hope for a hatch escape most games.

  • I can't read your whole post because it's too long, not enough paragraphs.

But, I think I get the jist of your question. My advice would be wait for the Hatch.

Problem is, is the fact that if I try helping my team it usually will end with me getting left on hook.

Problem is, is the fact that if I try helping my team it usually will end with me getting left on hook.

And thus is the cycle of solo queue kept in motion.

People are conditioned to think that they're on their own in solo, so they play for themselves, which reinforces to everyone else that they're on their own, and so it goes.

But as far as your scenario goes, someone just has to go for it, even if it means dying. I just said it in another thread, but dying is sometimes likely death is just the route you need to accept.

The danger you run into with one of these standoffs is that the other surv alive is going to turn on you. And if the standoff has gone on long enough, even if the killer has nothing but disdain for the turncoat, they're gonna take that help because they just want out, and are going to be less annoyed with the surv who showed themselves.
