Can the developers/Mandy reply more to posts here?

Per title. I understand they cannot reply to every post on here, nor do they need to. Put if multiple posts are made on the same topic or it is a very popular topic some reply may be welcome knowing you have actual received the feedback and get some sense of what your thoughts are on the matter. Right now it feels like talking to a brick wall.

Comments

  • Agreed. If not, hire more people who can? I don't think this is a small indie company, right?

There are so many questions with repeated posts (depipping, countless bugs, when will hug tech be fixed, etc) that could be stopped by one reply.

Instead these forums are littered with repeat posts.

  • Why tho, people are not going to look up answers to those posts anyway. Like we have had like 5 posts about DS this week.

did any of you look up replies from the developers regarding DS?

Exactly. And according to the developers themselves, they read all the feedback. Typing one sentence of acknowledgement and one sentence on action will cost them an additional 30 seconds. Unless they are not reading our feedback at all.

If a developer, mod or community manager replies in a post, it is highlighted next to the titel. And yes, once I see such flair I make sure to scan the post for that reply.

  • That's a double edged sword, though, because people already have an observable annoyance towards BHVR giving stock answers in places like the community QnAs and streams they host.

Realistically, if someone from BHVR comments on a popular topic, what is there to say in most cases except "we hear you and we're looking into it"? Personally, I'd prefer they only chime in if they have something of note to say, and even disregarding that people clearly and evidently do not like hearing BHVR say things like that.

Then they would have to reply to all DS threads? they wont do that. Besides people in this community is iffy, look what controversy was caused because bHVR answered one question about P100. There is a damn good reason bHVR is as silent as they are.

To be fair, that would already be a step up for me. For example, multiple people made a post on wanting depipping to be removed. A simple "we're looking into it" makes me aware of something actually being done about it. Behaviour wanted to communicate more with us. They need to step it up, and yes, also expanding on their replies and not just acknowledgement.

That's kinda my point- they can't expand on their replies beyond acknowledgement if there isn't anything else to say.

They can either comment frequently, or they can comment more in depth. If the topic in question is just something on their metaphorical list of things to get to and that's it, they can't magic up anything else to say about it except talking about hypothetical plans, which is another thing this community doesn't respond well to.

I empathise with wanting more info, but BHVR can't ignore the reality of the community they'd be talking to. They don't have many winning options, and talking about what they're working on very infrequently (when they have something to actually share) kinda is their best option right now.

(For the record, not quite the point but I do want to address it, "we're looking into it" does not let you know something is actually being done about it. It just means they're looking into it, not that they're acting.)

Yes, I do expect them to. If they would, we wouldn't be having a post here every day on DS. And their P100 comment was just them admitting to being lazy and having a double standard. So they were rightfully called out. Not speaking up with have resulted in even more messages on the topic. Not speaking up will create frustration and resentment. I imagine Behaviour was satisfied customers.

    false, I dont believe it.

True, they would have to pin a post and do some moderating. But that would be it

  • It's kind of unnecessary though. Yeah, it would be nice to see them more engaged with their own community but it wouldn't make much of a difference. For the most part, they let us discuss things here and only intervene sparsely, which probably isn't a bad thing.

The more the devs control the discussions on this forum, the less natural each discussion becomes, which in turn has an impact on any useful information they take away from them.

It would be nice though, if there were an extra section "ask the devs" where they would basically have AMA's every so often. I'd prefer that to the ones on Reddit.

  • Even when devs answer questions they can't give specifics or timelines so it's always "It's on our list!", "We've seen feedback and it's on our radar" etc, which people aren't happy about

When changes are coming they make an announcement, so there's no need for them to reply to every complaint with "yeah we know". There's a bunch of stuff they've acknowledged and it doesn't stop people from complaining about it every day, so they might as well save their time.

  • Right now it feels like talking to a brick wall.

Exactly. Every time i have an issue with this game and devs are not responding to people about it i start to regret being so invested in it. It's like i care about this game so much and sometimes it feels like the devs don't at all and that feels really bad.

  • Imma be real deal bro. I think they gotta get special permission to even reply and they gotta get that reply approved. That's just business too. Cause these people will definitely try some stuff with what they say. Not even hating. I don't think bhvr wants the devs to be super outright on things.
