Absolutely Quasivital, Contranontrivial Question That Must Be Answered
he's been with us since 2017, since the launch on consoles. He's seen everything since then -- every player, every streamer, and probably the majority of the developers too. Sure, he may only be visible for 5 seconds, be ignored entirely by many, myself included, and he regularly gets overshadowed with the chapter trailer with every release, but when the Mid-Chapter comes around, he always returns.
who am I talking about?
why
him, of course.
What is his name? We all owe it to him to name him. Or her.
To aid your considerations, a few fast facts from you local bird enthusiast:
I believe this is an American crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos). The sound we hear it make supports this.
Crows don't display very notable sexual dimorphism. Because of that, it's tricky, if not downright impossible to tell what the gender of this bird is from the 5 seconds of footage we have. I'm calling them a he because he
American crows typically live up to 7 or 8 years. Considering he first graced us with his prescence in 2017, he's on the older side, but still has a few years in him. Though age may very well not matter in the Entity's Realm.
Lastly; Lead Character Artist Eric Bourdages' opinion.
As the forums' resident bird enthusiast, I myself proposed the name Eric, after Eric Draven.
And now, it is time for you to decide.
I shall leave you with the trailer where we first met him:
