Diversity among skins/options
So, I’m an Adam Francis main and I can’t help but notice that there really isn’t the same plethora of skins for him and Detective Tapp as there are for other characters. Like we know Feng and Meg have 1,000,000 different skins and it seems like they’re ALWAYS getting more when random new releases come out. Has anyone noticed this?
I’ve played this game for awhile and I occasionally play as other characters but sometimes it’s just nice to see yourself represented. I love how inclusive and accessible the game has evolved however, I just think it would be nice to see more stuff/skins for the black men in the game. I mean, there’s only 2 and I feel like they’re getting left out because people don’t play them as often. Just my thoughts.

It really all comes down to what is marketable.

The only way they can ever really do this is with a character creator with a lot of customizable options. You'll never really have this with a character or skin unless they put you in the game. Some characters may share a few things similar to you but no one will ever fully represent you more than you.
Definitely would love more skins for Adam and Tapp. Diversity aside, Tapp is one of my favourite survivor characters from the licensed survivors... I also really like his perks... there are better out there, but they are really fun to make builds around.
I would absolutely be grabbing my wallet if a Detective Murtaugh made an appearance xD
Tapp is licensed, to be fair, so getting new skins for him is a little harder. Adam, though, he is 100% neglected and I'd personally love to see more skins for him.
Not even that, I'd love to see some tome lore for the man, he seems interesting- I just have no real anchor to form a real opinion on him, because his bare lore isn't the longest and there's nothing else to work from. Adam definitely deserves a tome and more cosmetics, imo.
Representation and diversity is a broad spectrum that can never be fully expressed in one particular project. The question is will what they do ever be enough to satisfy everyone this is a concern to, and does it really matter?
If Adam Francis was as popular as Feng or Meg you'd probably see more cosmetics for him. Thats the point I was making before.
This idea of representation being important in video games is something I find completely irrelevant in my opinion. And yes I've seen all the arguments. You may think its important as well as other people and thats fine, but I highly doubt this is a widely held belief or value amongst the gaming community. I really don't think most people care about this stuff. People can request more cosmetics but I also think understanding why some characters have more than others is important too. Some characters in this game are simply way more popular than others.
Video games aren't made to represent you. They're made to entertain you and make money for the people who developed them.
