Gen Kick meta is dead and Nerfing Pain Res, COB and Overchrage means

The dev are ready to move on from gens kicking meta which we have been in for the last 6 months. And we should be happy about it.

So, they kill COB and Overcharge all together, no more worth stacking it.

Pain Res nerf is because of snowball effect it provides. The game will feel worse if down after down, gens get explode 15% all the time with short chases.

As The next meta will make the chase become shorter, thus the killer potential with PR will become bigger if they dont nerf it.

Chase perks like bambozle, Spiritfury, will be the best in make the chase become even shorter.

Chain Slug meta gonna see another light of the day again

Infectious Fright, Sloppy, STBFL, Jolt

  • I feel like the devs are attempting to shift the game a bit so that killers slow down the game more with their own gameplay, injuring survivors as much as possible, with less slow down coming from perks. This might also be a reaction to the complaints about the 3 gen strategy, because the killer actually has to chase survivors to get hits against them.

I actually kind of really like the idea to be honest, but if I had to guess, they will reduce the healing time to 20 seconds before the patch hits live. I do agree that it would be nice to have a meta shift in this game, it needs it. I actually believe Pain Res will still not be that bad, but I also do think they should buff the regression up to 20%, since it activates less times.

Yeah i feel that way too.

The changes are really extreme but it is important to not look at them in a vaccuum but as a whole.

Survivors are less safe now that healing is harder and DH doesn't get that safety blanked but killers have most of their easy regression removed so they have to get their slowdown now from interracting with survivors.

I'm interrested to see how this goes tbh

Exactly. And that's why all these changes will be tested in ptb first. I wouldn't be surprised if BHVR has 20 second healing times already ready as a backup plan, and they are just trying to see how far they can push healing times with the ptb.

M1 killer is worse in this patch.

    Let me guess. Overcharge,CoB Reliance?

  • I know what they’re trying to shift the game into. I just already know that it’s not gonna work.

  • My concern is that these changes benefit the killers who were already super-strong or could be oppressive without slowdown perks, while leaving lower-tier killers with even fewer resources than they had before. None of the slowdown perks were even that strong individually, but because Skull Merchant and Knight's designs are fundamentally flawed, they're taking the easy way out and nerfing perfectly fine perks instead or reworking killers: the same thing they did with Nurse for the better part of 3 years. Meanwhile, the killers who can't do what the top tier killers and the weird ones like Knight and SM can do are left worse off with no compensation: slower healing doesn't matter if you're still unable to quickly catch, down and hook survivors in the first place, and worse slowdown options give them even less time to do so. On the survivor side, reduced slowdown and worse healing encourages gen-rushing and discourages altruism: everyone was already bringing medkits and still will, but will never heal each other if there's no incentive to do so and it takes longer. I'm glad CoH and DH are getting pared back but Adrenaline and Prove Thyself weren't touched, while the million garbage perks piling up on both sides are still a waste of space. If there's not a considerable course-correct in the PTB, we're going to see one annoying, unfun meta replaced by a differently annoying, unfun meta.
