Show killers the distance to gens (and hooks while carrying)

Since survivors have gotten "immersion breaking" HUD changes, and can see things like the repair progress of other survivor's gens...

Can the killer be shown how far away gens and hooks are from them?

(Not sure if verticality should affect it or not. If veticality does not affect the killer's Terror Radius then don't let it affect the distance either.)

  • How would this information be displayed exactly?

Distance should already be discernible by the size of the aura, and using the space around you to judge depth (triangulation by lateral movement). You know, spatial awareness.

  • That's up to the UX team

  • Wouldn't this be misleading information if there's obstacles, such as walls, in between?

  • You mean like numeric value? Survivors didn't get precise info like this. And AFAIK killers already see hook auras and gen auras. So they do have same level of information in this case as survivors got via HUD. So what do you mean @Nos37 ?

  • Terror radius goes through walls.

If I'm playing Pig I'll know to crouch when the gen says 40m above it.

Why would you need that info?

You can already see their auras, isn't that already immersion breaking info enough?

  • I'm glad you all can accurately use auras to discern, triangulate, and calculate the distance.

    Not everyone can.

Just turn it off if you don't need it.

    ----

The Pig slows down when she crouches. If I'm approaching a gen and crouch too soon it'll take me longer to get there. If I crouch too late they'll know I'm coming.

If I pick up a survivor and there are two hooks seemingly equidistant, I want to go to the closer one.

The first one is just stuff about pig that should really get fixed. No reason why a stealth killer should have a regular TR distance or for her to be so slowed down when crouching.

The second, i feel like experience you can get the feeling of distances you can pursue with a survivor on your back, also sometimes its better for the killer to not go to the closest hook.

Idk, i just feel like all that info is just cluttering the screen and not giving necessary info. The Hud update for survivors was necessary if the game wants to have solos and SWF be in a more even playing field.

They aren't, but still nice to not feel so much discrepancy as before

Then the devs can have it turned off by default and put the option under Accessibility. I don't see what the problem is...

Because it takes time and resources. If they are working on that, they can't be working on other stuff.

I just think they should be working on other more important stuff.

They have bots. The game already knows these distances at all times.

The UX team just needs to slap a box on gens, with room in it for a number to be parsed and displayed for the killer to see.
