All killers should be FUN to play as!
And ideally, fun to go against, but that's another story. In this post I want to focus on killers being fun to play as. Which is influenced by their power , and their addons . If a killer does not feel fun to play, people will tend to avoid playing them. Which leads to decreased variety in the killers that survivors face.
I will list the killers who I think need changes:
- Trapper - needs buffs. Having to go around the map and pick up your traps is a daunting task. Traps also need a bit bigger hitboxes, so that survivors can't easily navigate around them in the narrow passages, just because the hitboxes are too small.
- Hillbilly - needs buffs. He is a very cool killer to play as, and trying to get those curves in chases is what makes him fun... or it would, if he had some help with it. Maybe increase his movement speed while revving a chainsaw, or some other buff.
- Myers - needs buffs to his basekit, and nerfs to his busted addons. It feels so weird that without good addons he is so weak, and with some of his addons he is too strong. Myers needs love after all these years!
- Freddy - His addons are very unfun, dull and not very useful... His addons should be reworked into being both useful and fun to use! Also, with BT now being basekit, and not depending on terror radius, I really think that the clocks should NOT provide the survivors with immunity to falling asleep.... because then Freddy's addons that depend on survivors being in the Dream World are useless most of the time.
- Pyramid Head - his addons are SO boring and most of them are useless . His iri and purple addons are garbage imo. I think that his addons need a big rework, because they should be fun, and useful, which would make people want to play this killer more.
- Blight - Alchemist RIng should be reworked. Potentially even the speed addons should be nerfed or reworked. Blight is a high mobility killer, and should not be able to gain even more mobility through addons. Just like Nurse shouldn't have had the range addons in the first place. These very 2 strong killers have a strong basekit.
- Twins - they need a lot of love from you, devs. They feel clunky to play, switching from Victor to Charlotte takes ages, it's frustrating. It does not allow for a FUN experience playing them. Also they have bugs that have been present for a LONG time. Please fix those bufs. Twins have so much potential, you could realize it. Please don't throw this killer away.
- Trickster - I feel ike his Main Event is boring and unreliable. I don't see why anyone would play him for this Main Event ability. If Main Event was reworked into something completely different, something fun and reliable, I feel like this killer would get so much more love, because he would have a power that's actually fun to use.
- Sadako - The most fun and thrill when it comes to playing her and versing her lies in her comdemning. I love matches where I play against her and she's able to put good pressure on us via condemnation stacks. I also love playing as her when I go for condemning. It's just that it's very hard to do that when not using a certain iri and green addon. I feel like her basekit should allow for much more reliable building of condemning stacks, and also actually push the survivors to interact with her TVs/tapes. And then the iri / green addons could be reworked or nerfed. Her invisibility is okay, but worse than Wraith's. I don't get why she has a "lullaby". But yeah, FUN with her is in the battle of inflicting or getting rid of condemn stacks. The TV cooldown after projection should be much lower than it currently is, imo.
- Knight - his green, purple and 1 of the iri adodns are kind of bad and unfun. Whereas, his best addons are his brown and yellow. This feels off, his higher rarity addons should be better.

As stupid as it sounds but i think Freddy needs another rework. His abilitys are really boring. The only thing i like about him is his ability to teleport to gens. ( and also faking it ).
Trickster should just be able to use his main-event whenever he wants to and not be limited by a time frame.
On Sadako i never got use out of her condemning and in my opinion it could be scratched. Its just a gimmick.
Knight feels stupid to play as and against. I could only find strength in his ability to kick gens and place a guard next to it. I guess i didnt quite get the hang of him yet but honestly id like him to be reworked. Its really unfun as a survivor to be pushed from both sides where there is literally nothing you can do ( except to use dead hard against his guard, which in itself feels broken ). I rather get outplayed by a good Nurse or Blight then to just be pushed towards a corner with no real skill involved.
Its always funny how people thinks that Myers addons are busted. :D
It's only really incorrect because of the plural on the word. Myers has a busted addon, singular, only the Tombstone Piece needs any changes.
This is why you see so much of Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Spirit, and Huntress. They are strong and also some of the most fun killers to play as.
You also see a lot of Wraith, Legion, Slinger, Demo, Dredge, and Pinhead for similar reasons. They are reliable enough that you can reasonably expect to win a lot of your games, and also they are very fun to play.
Even though killers like Twins, Artist, Hag, Billy, Plague, and Pyramid Head are very strong in their own right, they are often too clunky awkward to feel good to play as. You can win a lot of games with them, but it feels like such a unfun slog to do so.
Then you have Knight, Sadako, Nemesis, Trickster, Ghostface, Clown, Pig, Freddy, Bubba, Doc, Myers, and Trapper. You are pretty much playing as a killer without a power for most of the game. When you do try to use your power, it's gimmicky and clunky, and barely even likely going to help you win a chase (let alone win the match). These killers need some love.
Oni is kind of the exception. I don't know why I don't see him often, even though he is very fun to play and very strong.
So did you forget about Pig or do you find her fun to play as???
I was wondering the same thing.
All of his addons have easy counters. And especially Tombstone have a good one. Loop Myers for more than 60 seconds, which is quite easy, and you will see how useless Tombstone is. You can force him to do what ever you want if you play it smart.
Sure, when you know he has it, which you only do when one guy is already dead to it.
Call me crazy, but I think an addon giving the absolute strongest thing that a killer can possibly have - an instant kill - should have more of a requirement and more of a downside than 'play Myers normally for slightly longer'. Judith's Tombstone is balanced, the Tombstone Piece is not.
You can see it from his movement, from his chasing attempts to stalk you like he is waiting for it. You can observe everything he has. In a moment you can recognize his addons. Time he spent to stalk you, keeping distance or close range and much more. Lead him to jungle gym or to god pallets and after while he will be less than average M1 killer. If he would have UNLIMITED amount of stalking, then yes it would be strong, but not in actual state of Myers. Locker is forcing him to grab you and hook you and much more. Its observable what addons he has.
But he doesn't have to do any of that with the Tombstone Piece. With the green stalk rate addon, you're barely going to notice a difference between regular Myers and Tombstone Myers- and a properly good player is going to be getting to Tier 3 while still getting hits/downs/hooks, so you'll doubly not know until you're hit with it.
Again, you're kind of avoiding the point. An instant kill is the strongest possible value a killer can get, and what does the Piece require for that? Slightly more stalking and literally nothing else. The iridescent, supposedly better, has more of a stalk requirement and a speed penalty. No other killer has an instant kill even half as achievable as either of those.
Besides, your argument there hinges on Myers being weak, and OP is suggesting fixing that. The Tombstone Piece is overtuned now, it'd be straight up OP if Myers were actually decent.
"But he doesn't have to do any of that with the Tombstone Piece."
"With the green stalk rate addon, you're barely going to notice a difference between regular Myers and Tombstone Myers"
"An instant kill is the strongest possible value a killer can get, and what does the Piece require for that?"
"Slightly more stalking and literally nothing else."
"The Tombstone Piece is overtuned now, it'd be straight up OP if Myers were actually decent."
I'm not sure I've conveyed my point, here, so I'm going to try again.
A Tombstone Myers plays exactly like normal Myers, with the only differences being that he takes a little longer to reach Tier 3 - which from a survivor perspective could be because you're successfully robbing him of stalk, it could be because he's running a duration addon, it could be because he looks more like he's running Vanity Mirror, it could be because he's going for Evil Incarnate and he's running the iridescents, or it could be because he's running Tombstone Piece - and that at the end of that extra time, he immediately makes up for it by instantly getting you out of the game.
Yes, survivors can deny Myers stalk. But your first chase with Myers would have to last all five generators for him not to get value from turning the game into a 3v1 the second he does reach Tier 3, I don't think I've conveyed that my point is he can make up for the time you force him to lose by taking you out of the game immediately.
To your final points- first, tournaments are irrelevant, not sure why they're being brought up. Second, yes, Myers needs buffs. He needs basekit buffs and he needs a light addon overhaul because some of them are pretty useless- and as part of that balance sweep, because he's being made stronger, the already overtuned Tombstone Piece would need to be nerfed, because its current strength on a Myers that doesn't need it would be too much.
Neither I nor OP are suggesting nerfing it right now. We're suggesting nerfing it while Myers is made stronger to compensate. This conversation that you entered into wasn't about nerfing Myers, it was about buffing him.
I was also wondering about Pig. I like to play as her but I can see so much room for improvement. I can appreciate that her traps offer good basekit slowdown but the other aspects of her power (namely the stealth and ambush) feel so underwhelming. If they made her a bit more well-rounded then I think she'd be so much more enjoyable to play. Adding some of the brown add-ons (like Combat Straps and John's Medical File) to her basekit would be an excellent starting point.
reading your quote about Knight. Idd like to recommend you look up CreepyClub for some juicy knowledge.
