Revert Deathslinger's terror radius back to 24

I feel like this is a very reasonable change, considering you changed the timing for scoping in as deathslinger, which eliminated the aspect of quick scoping.

Other killers like Huntress and Trickster have a terror radius less than 32, which is strange as they are similar to Deathslinger, but they have no range-limited projectiles like the Deathslinger does but is at a 32 meter terror radius, which makes the stealth part of Deathslinger completely worthless, as by the time you're at the survivor they've most likely ran all the way across the map to another loop, and let's not forget to mention that he has no mobility whatsoever. (I'm aware that the Huntress has a lullaby, but she can still damage you from a long distance anyway)

And because of the precise hitboxes with his redeemer, limited shots and slowdown to shoot I don't see why he has to put under a 32 meter terror radius, it just makes no sense.

Also, considering he moves at a 110% movement speed, how come the rest of the killers that move similar to that percentage only have a 24 meter terror radius? I really do think changing the terror radius is a better approach in this situation than having some lullaby added to the killer.

I would like to know everyone's opinion on this topic as well.

  • I agree, but we all know BHVR is known for making one nerf, then making another that compounds the first into near-unplayability, and then ignores the first nerf because 'Who cares? It's a Killer issue.' ๐Ÿ™ƒ

  • Personally, what I'd want to see is them making him work exactly the same as Huntress and Trickster- shrink his Terror Radius back down, but make up the difference with a lullaby. I'm generally on board with the idea that they don't want him to be perfectly stealthy and able to line up shots from further away than survivors could hear him, but I do think him having a full 32 meter TR is a bit much.

The lullaby radius should definitely be a quieter one like Trickster's, of course. Something with rattling, maybe, give it a Western feel.

I thought the reasoning for the tr change was to squash his stealth completely, so survs weren't getting scewered without a little notice? Monitor & Abuse was ran so much on him back then you'd think Eruption was scarce these days by comparison.

I don't see why it was necessary to change it to 32..

He walks really slow and has a range-limited projectile power.

If you were a dev, and it was decided to stamp out players running him as a quasi-stealth killer, plus remove the quick scoping, what changes would you do?

I would either revert his terror radius to 24 meters or add some sort of lullaby to Deathslinger

Some other changes I would do the killer is change the camera speed and just improve it generally when he's aiming down sights, as it feels weird when doing it now (I don't want the slowdown to removed, it makes sense on why they would add it to the killer, and this is a normal mechanic seen in other games).

I would also probably also adjust his reloading, as it's incredibly punishing when he has missed his shots, but the developers could do that with add ons (I know some add ons already do this by 0.5 seconds but it would be cool if maybe his redeemer was reworked to seem less punishing if you miss a shot)

If the developers don't want to change the terror radius, then I think it would cool if they change the movement speed of the Deathslinger, not by a huge amount but an amount that seems fair and balanced for the Deathslinger's current 32 meter terror radius

Standardizing killers with is a very uninteresting way to go about things. Variety is vital to keeping the game feel fresh and his slinger's abnormal terror radius was part of his identity. Having a killer that actually makes use of Monitor was really novel.

It's not like he was overpowered with 24. He was still an alright killer with a super high skill cap. It's not like there aren't perks to counter it anyway(fogwise, spine chill, dark sense if it weren't terrible).

It may be uninteresting, but there's a reason there's a pattern for how killers are normally laid out. You still get variety in how the lullaby sounds, and it's not as though Slinger actually plays appreciably similarly to either of the other killers with a lullaby in terms of gameplay variety for either side.

Also, how d'you mean, actually makes use of Monitor? That perk is pretty decent on a few killers, most noticeably Myers. If you had to pick one killer who "actually made use of" that perk, it wouldn't be old Slinger, it'd be the Shape.
