The plague and the hatch

I was chatting to a friend about the hatch as im a survivor main and he is a killer main and was contemplating the idea of given the plague can vomit on pallets, gens etc what if she vomited on the hatch? It's almost sticky like and can either have it where survivors have to open the hatch like the exit gates or have to cleanse the hatch? Just a thought as thought it would be a cool mechanic for her specifically

  • That would be inconsistent with previously established rules of normal gameplay and plague's unique mechanics... contradicting what survivors have come to expect (You don't need to cleanse gens before working on them, why do you need to cleanse the hatch?) would be super confusing/annoying. I would oppose this suggestion for those reasons.

The hatch is used instantly, so there's no point in vomiting on it. Any survivor who interacts with it escapes the trial.

Iirc killers are SUPPOSED to be able to shut it as survivors are in the escape animation. But that doesn't work...

My point would be her vomiting on the hatch before it opens as such the hatch would then need to be cleaned in order to be opened. I understand where you're coming from Shraar as a survivor main I too want that escape but the plague is not a high tier killer at all and I feel this tiny mechanic if introduced would increase her playability by so much.

  • Hi

The Killer main that Maj has said when we were discussing the trap door. The main issue i find that in order to get a 4 kill i have to slug the third to find the 4th and get the 4th down put them on the hook and then try and find the third as they never stay put lol. The reason i do this is that in 9 games out of 10 if i hook the third the 4th escape and in games where i actually dominate the team, why would i want the 4th to escape so easily when they either played poorly or i was the stronger player. Regarding the plague idea i think its a interesting idea as it makes the free escape not so much free but it also depends on the plague to find the hatch and vomit on it so i see a fair balance there (i know take it with some salt with me being a killer main lol) But the hatch is a stupid mechanic to start with and shouldnt be a free escape just cause the killer was able to do their job well.
