Why do killer lobbys take longer to find a match?

Cause survivors I can find a match quicker. But killer lobbys it takes longer to find a match why is that? Is it because there's more killers then survivors?

For the most part, thats why this update is bringing 2 survivors to alleviate that que time.

If you live in Eastern US, and in mid-high ranks, come join PS4 - generally killers seem to get faster matchmaking times than survivors (in my experience.) So we definitely need more killers playing.

It depends on your rank, what day is it, at what time are you looking for games. For example if I queue on a Thursday 10AM it’s gonna take me to find games 10+ mins because people are at work and kids are sleeping because summer break, but if i queue at 10PM i get into the lobby pretty much instantly.

The killer/survivor ratio is off. It should be like 4 survivors on 1 killer to be perfectly balanced. But it feels like it's 4 survivors on 2 killers. Probably since after hallowed blight people preferred to play killer more (me including).

My killer ques are actually quicker than my survivor ques.

Every chapter and dlc they improve killers and nerf survs, so more people play as killer. I have no wait as survivor and about 10 min as killer. They’re destroying this game

I personally find a match quicker as killer than survivor but it still takes some time

I guess a lot of survivor mains finally decided to try out killer or the new players still haven't learned how to play survivor so they stick to killer

You should include your region, platform and rank. All of those make a difference for queue times. In Asia the killer queues are instant supposedly for example (I don't know which platform or across which ranks) while in Europe it's the other way around

Honest answer? People play survivor once and hate the experience or feel like their bad, so they play killer.

Most people play killer. Most people ONLY play killer. People never play more thay a game or 2 of survivor in a row since it's incredibly toxic, broken and not fun

Or maybe there’s just a lot more variety to choose as killer so it just doesn’t get as boring? Their powers are different so the game experience will be different. For survivors it’s a lot of the same.

Allow me to explain : It's a new program the developers are testing and using in preparation for Dedicated Servers.

It works like this : There are "slots" open for matches and for available lobbies for Killers to open. Say there are a total of 2,000 "slots". Each "slot" is a match in progress, or an open lobby. If all these "slots" are filled, the Killer is basically given a "ticket" to wait in que until a "slot" opens up and they may create a lobby to start a match. This is in preparation for Dedicated servers, to prevent Server overload of too many matches and too many open lobbies at once.

It does NOT mean there are more Killer players or too many Killers playing. It simply means there are not any open slots for Killers to make a lobby. They are all full, due either to lobbies open or matches in progress. If there is 2,000 games going on, Killers and Survivors must both wait, however because 2,000 games can be played by 8,000 survivors, the allowance for Survivors is simply larger.

This means that getting a match can vary wildly.
