We can trade shards for points, why not points for shards?

That way people have the option to use points on something instead of the void of bloodwebs, and outfits that cost shards aren’t so out of range through grind.

  • I'd like that. I'd also like the idea of converting shards to cells too, since you can't get most cosmetics with shards, and the lore about the cells indicates that survivors can find them without help, just that it's rare.

  • This could be a good idea, although the conversion rate would have to be better balanced in my opinion. Right now, there's no real incentive to convert shards to BPs using the shrine because the time it takes to earn 2000 shards is far longer than earning 200k BPs.

@Raven014 As nice as it would be to be able to buy everything with shards (which I assume is the reason you want to be able to convert between the two) there is a good reason why it's not already a thing. If we could convert shards to cells, there would be no point in having separate currencies. The whole point of cells is to have an in-game currency which is only attainable using real life currency.

It's already hard enough to get shards in the first place. At least have every cosmetic have a shard price, even if it's ridiculous.

  • @Raven014 It's the devs' prerogative to lock inconsequential content such as vanity items behind a paywall, especially in the case of licensed characters or cosmetics which have to be exclusively paid content per the agreement the devs have with the license owners. It's not uncommon or unreasonable.

In my opinion, we should count ourselves lucky that (a) the vast majority of cosmetic items are freely unlockable through gameplay, and (b) all the non-licensed DLC content is unlockable without paying a cent. I can't think of many games that allow players to unlock DLC/Expansions without paying. It seems like the devs are already trying to make as much content available for free as possible while maintaining a financially viable business model.

    I know that...
