An Object of Obsession Rework

So object, unless you're against a stealth killer, or are using it in SWF, is a pretty terrible perk. So I wanted to redesign the perk in a way that it's actually useful for solos and not crippling to stealth killers.

You are able to see the killer's aura within 32 meters. Your aura is revealed to the killer at all times unless you are within their terror radius. A killer with no terror radius will not be revealed by the perk, but your aura will not be revealed to them either. If you are the obsession, you will see the killer's aura anytime your aura would have been revealed to the killer by an effect. Increases your chance of becoming the obsession.

Basically it makes it to where this is a forewarning/looping perk. You see the killer coming but it also tells them where you are at almost all times

Basically the perk completely removes your ability to hide from the killer but makes you better at looping since you can see the killer's aura within 32 meters. Additionally it acts as warning when a (non stealth) killer is coming to you and also tells you when the killer uses an aura reading perk.

I think this redesign of the perk makes it much more interesting than the current design. With the old design it was like the devs wanted it to be a perk that lets you see the killer at a cost but still be able hide from them. The new design instead appeals to people who have more aggressive play styles. Practically removing the ability to hide from the killer but giving you an edge over them in a chase. This is also mitigates the "radar effect" it has for SWF teams, since 1 person can no longer take the perk and have everyone always know where the killer is.

  • Also, numbers aren't set in stone. If necessary. The range's can be adjusted. For example if 32 meters is too much maybe 24 is more reasonable. If the no terror radius requirement is still too punishing to stealth killers (like tier 2 myers with M&A/dead rabbit) then perhaps the restriction can be upped to 8 meter or less terror radius. Although I don't think the second case is likely, having the perk counter one specific build is probably fine.

  • This perk would be very broken because itd bring it from being an issue for stealth killers to screwing every killer and giving the ghostface issue to all killers..plus..survivors shouldnt have the ability to eliminate killer mind games entirely because it's the only way killers have had any success in this game..but leaks have confirmed stealth killers are getting a nice buff which will fix object so no worries

  • OoO is fine as it is, don't touch my fav perk.

  • This is just a nerf to an already bad perk that puts you more in danger than it does help you; I’d rather it just stay as is.

I don't really agree that it's a nerf. It's supposed to put you in danger, yes. But being able to see the killers aura in a chase is extremely strong and makes you much harder to win against in chases where you are looping a line of sight blocker.

  • So eliminate all mindgame potential for killers and make looping braindead for survivors? Cool, sounds fair.

  • It will be changed. Let's see how it will go :D

This perk would be broken. Read it again and think how useful it would be you can see the killer on a loop and position yourself so you can maximise your looping you get awareness of a killers approach the minute they walk within 32 meters.

Its always been more advantageous. For the survivour to have vision then the killer. The only situation OoO would be bad is vs spirit and nurse otherwise you would have a huge advantage as survivour.

  • In my opinion, no perk should have 24/7 aura reading capabilities. Perfect information for the little price of revealing yourself is too strong, and is amplified by swf. There are only two killers in this game that can consistently use OoO to their advantage, Nurse and Spirit. It needs to be redesigned from the ground up. Killers that aren't stealthy like Trapper and Hag suffer greatly when survivors know where their traps are, and huntress simply can't chase them due to OoO's ability to let you know ages before if a killer is going for you. The chase becomes injuring rather than rewarding.

I've played and won several high-profile tournaments (Space Esports Weekly Rituals, TydeTyme's 750$ tourney) so I don't come from a ignorant perspective. OoO simply is too strong as it is now.
