Ruin vs. Corrupt Intervention
- FunGoose: Ruin is chance-based, it plays a lot with luck and it can either be great, or be popped in the first couple of seconds of the game.
- FunGoose: Corrupt Intervention is giving you 120 seconds to get your things together.
- My opinion: Forces people to group up in a tight area, if you aren't a killer who requires setup, ie; (Trapper) you can take full advantage and get 1 or 2 quick hits, applying map pressure. It's especially amazing with PGTW.
Do you think Corrupt Intervention is underrated? Do you think it's better or worse than Ruin?

It's harder to quantify the benefits of Corrupt Intervention. CI may not even achieve its goal of grouping everyone up, as they just as well may search out for totems and chests for a good portion of its duration too. It also inevitably helps survivors spread out gens.
Ruin is a wildcard, but offers another objective for the Killer to take advantage of, which is also hard to recognize. (Think about those times where the Killer easily slugs multiple people for being greedy.) It also actively delays all generators, rather than just half of them. Technically Ruin also doubles over as a detection perk for those who poorly attempt to power through it.
Personally, I think Corrupt Intervention is worse, with all considered. Sure, you get guaranteed value out of it, but its impact is smaller and harder to snowball with. I would love to see hard data on it though!
It's underrated for sure because ruin can be destroy in a few seconds while CI block 3 gens for 2m no matter what. It's a great alternative when playing without ruin and like you say if you don't get skill checks ruin is kind of useless, it's all RNG but non viable killers really need it.
CI is only really good for killers that need set up time like hag or trapper. I can't really see the use of it of any other killer, maybe that's just me though.
