You get the cosmetics for having Deathgarden on your Steam account, not for having it downloaded.

Well still no its not bannable they cant force you to have deathgarden
@Razvan You'll only have it during the free days.. once it gets removed from your steam games list when the free days are over, you'll lose the masks.

No. Basically when you play Dead by Daylight, the game checks to see if you have Deathgarden in your library. If you do, it unlocks the mask. When there's a free weekend, Steam temporarily puts the game in your library. So when you're playing DBD, it sees Deathgarden in your library and unlocks it.
If you don't own Deathgarden, it'll go away once the free weekend's over.
@Peanits Ive had death garden in my library since alpha ive never got my masks is there a way to contact someone about this?
