Why is nurse stunned / wiping blade after hit?

  • Bug

I have had that before while playing Nurse myself. It usually happens when you were supposed to grab the survivor off something (exit gates/generator), but the game is like "Nope, no grab for ya".

But it did hit, not grab?

  • @Snapshot Like @ABannedCat said, its a common bug where if both the Killer does a fast lunge and the Survivor gets off what they're doing at the same time it will show you grabbing them but then it just turns into a fast lunge.

This only happens when both the Survivor gets off the gen, gate, totem, etc. And the Kiler fast lunges them to pick them up AT the same time. For Nurses case, she hit the survivor and it registered as a grab but since what I said happened it just turned into a hit. This simultaneously stunned her and had her go into the "wiping blade" animation and soon after actually did the regular stun animation at the end.

For how long has this bug been in the game now?

  • @Snapshot Well, considering that the bug I mentioned that happens causes this to happen to Nurse...

How long has it been a thing? Since the game started lmao. I wasn't around in 2016, but if they didn't have grabs back then it would be whenever grabs were implemented then.

I'm 100% sure on that because this has always been an issue, and its just been accepted. I feel like its something they can't fix either since its just two players doing two actions at the same time which cancels the animation from happening.

Its a pretty pin point thing that happens, and by that I mean its very precise on what both players have to do in that given moment for it to happen.

  • It is called phantom grabbing

Originally she was gonna grab tru3lalent off the exit gate, but he released faster than the grab animation could happen and latency took place, causing the issue to happen

Why does in this situation the killer (host/server) not win? Once the grab animation starts, there should not be a way to cancel it

  • @Snapshot Latency, he released and it was considered a normal M1 and not a blink M1, so the nurse recovered first then suffered exhaust

Also it is because connection to survivors

Just trying to understand, when it is considered a "normal M1", why did the nurse AFTERWARDS also get stunned?

    Because its a bug.

The Nurse should have grabbed the survivor, but the survivor stopped the interaction pretty much in the same moment the grab should have happened. So the game got confused and gave her both the weapon cooldown, and the fatigue stun.

  • This killer is broken. Remove/nerf her

@xChrisx Nurse is fine, this happens to all killers, you suffer more with Nurse and Michael getting the Phantom Grab issue

@ABannedCat This bug will only happen up to Dedicated server's drop as that will fix the greater issues with latency

  • Increasing the grab window frame after letting go of an action could be a bandaid solution... Which would make survivors go ballistic, probably.

  • Happens to me almost every game.

Grab animation, no grab, missed hit, fatigue.

It's annoying, and I understand the hatred when people ask for Nurse bug fixes because she's "omg, she's so op." But its sometimes unfair, that's OUR grab, it's our hit, and it doesn't happen.

@Peanits Is it possible to also report a bug, Nurse can't blink through the exit gates in Mother's Dwelling or the Temple of Purgation.

Replication rate is at 100%, she cannot blink inside, and her blinks won't work inside as well.

Only thing that broken is the amount of blinks she can get by add ons
