Last few games I've seen my teammates 99% the exit gates and leave to help the last survivor, making end game collapse pointless.

It's fine. The killer can open the door if they're bothered.
The time for opening gates has always been the same... so... you want 20 seconds to be reduced to what 15 or something?

EGC is supposed to prevent a game hostage situation and do the killer's job when there is one survivor left. Going to save a survivor when they are being held hostage is not holding the game hostage. What you propose would be awesome for killer, now they just have to patrol and beat survivors off the gate exits for two minutes in order to kill everyone. Remember me would get a lot of use.
