The immersion

I have been started to notice that a lot of players use the fords "immersive" or "immerse" when they describe the tactics of the survivors.

Is it a new trend? Why they don't use the word "stealth"?

Is there different between the stealth and the immersive playstyles in DBD?

    Stealth is avoiding the Killer, but still getting work done(gens, Unhooks, etc.)

    Immersed is sneaking everywhere and moving very slowly(usually crouched) and getting nothing done. Especially when the Killer is obviously elsewhere. Watch Vinc3ant Vega's Scaredette videos on YT. He does it for the memes, but that is pretty much what immersed sums up as.
