Well, when you're drugging people and mentally/physically torturing them until they die, people get the impression that you're pretty evil.
I mean there's the whole torture and murder thing of his.
The feathers and stuff he would keep, he collected from things he tortured and killed.
Evil is subjective. The clown has issues. Issues, and a human finger collection.
He's not evil, just helplessly romantic.
