How to play Legion effectively now, and How to down survivors with FMT

Bring cooldown add-on's, Use your power to get the first hit, then continue the chase while in frenzy until you are caught up or heading them off, then purposely end the frenzy yourself and finish them off with a normal strike.

In light of the new changes to Legions Cool down add-on's, the new strategy is to take Duration add-on's, and the Enduring+spirit fury combo. Legion doesn't suffer thier insufferable cooldown time of 4 seconds when pallet slammed out of frenzy, So the new tactic is:

FF strike a survivor, follow them and let them pallet slam you, finish them off with normal strike and pallet mind games.

This seems to be the most effective way to play Legion now as spreading out the deep wounds to every survivor you can just wastes time and is no threat to them since the 30 second bleedout timer pauses in terror radius and pauses when mending. At least with this "1 survivor at a time" tunneling method you can end chases quickly and get a hook.

Franks Mix tape is now the ONLY way to knock them down with frenzy attacks, but it comes at a high cost in time to you to pull off since it takes up to 5 strikes to down them.

The first strike applies deep wound status,

2nd knocks off 7.5 seconds on the timer which you get right away,

Then you have to wait 20 seconds for your power to recharge before you can do it again,

and then another 20 seconds,

and another 20 seconds before you can finish them off.

Overall it takes about 70-80+ seconds (depending on how good the survivor is at chases) before you down them with FMT. Compared to the cooldown method above (which can down a survivor in less than 20 seconds) Franks Mix Tape is now a useless add-on, and no longer deserves to be in the "Very Rare" category.

You're welcome survivors... you got your wish concerning nerfs to Legions OP add-on.

The more I looked into them the more I found out they're not that bad honestly. You can get a free hit (almost) at first then m1 smack them with 115% MS. They also mentioned extending the timer so you can take your time to land your hit properly.

With the right perks they can be quite good.

Point of fact, since Deep wounds is so ridiculously non-threatening now, pretty much ALL of Legions add-on's, other than the cooldown ones, are just useless. Leveling up Legion is now just a massive waste of BP while trying to get the few good add-on's they have. Say what you want about it, defend it if you can, but at least when Freddy was nerfed into the ground the majority of his add-on's were still useful. There's no reason to strike twice with a frenzy attack since it gives the survivors a sprint burst while you are stunned for 4 seconds, and most of the new changes to the add-on's require you to frenzy strike twice in order to apply their effect. Legions power is useless, and the add-on's that are supposed to give it an edge are even more so.

I didn't want think it before, but after MANY PTB games testing the Legion changes out... To me, they are now indisputably the WORST killer.

  • Just play Legion like Trapper with a map crossing sprint.

  • Why even have FMT if it takes 5 hits to down? Lol. These devs are just as bad as EA devs man I swear LOL.

@ReikoMori You mean like a weaker version of Wraith?

  • That would mean I could sneak up on people. 32m TR that can't be hidden kinda screams Trapper to me.

  • EDIT: Updated the post to give a new way of being effective since cooldowns were changed

It looks like we are going to need that perk combo to compensate a little this massive nerfs madness and give free killer stuns to survivors... what a sad end for legion.

And yes they really need to change addons to something interesting, like for example"a venenous blade that applies exaustation", the ones that applies mangled and broken aren't useful at all. And fmt is a joke.

Legion is very underrated ever since the PTB but I'm also not saying he's strong either. However, if the developers should be aiming every killer to get an average of 2.5 sacrifices or higher.
