The time is altered if a survivor is hooked or in dying state...

So whats the point then? They basically can still sit around and plan their way to save someone. Why make a clock but slow it down for pivotal moments where it would actually help a killer?

  • Shouldn’t they be able to save? You aren’t entitled to free kills..... Well I guess now you’re...

  • I agree, I think the slower timer isn't really necessary. But I think the game is assuming the Killer is gonna camp it out, which he probably will. Leaving a hook when the gates are powered is a pretty stupid move.

  • The point is to not have it last forever.

It's the same reason why you can wiggle on the Killer's shoulder.

If you CAN wiggle, the Killer will take a nearby hook, otherwise you'll wiggle off.

But if you CAN'T wiggle, the Killer could just take you to the best hooks everytime, or even just keep you on the shoulder and keep you hostage.

The timer is purely to just not give the endgame the potential to last WAY too long.

We know why it exists. The point being made is why the timer moves slower when the survivors are downed/hooked instead of normal speed. The game lasts LONGER when someone is down during endgame. The reason is to give the Survivors more time to save the other guy, but at the same time, the timer remaining the same would help the Killer out much more.

Basically the slower timer exists just because it would probably be nearly impossible to save someone within 3 minutes if the Killer hard camps. It's pretty much impossible anyway unless you make some really cheeky moves.

  • The end game wont really change all that much, It'll just be put on a timer now which is a good thing since survivors had control over how long the game lasts and could hold it hostage the changes prevent that.

Maybe it's now time we stop considering "Exit Gates are active" as "endgame", and start considering it as "the other half of the game".
