what other environmental intractables could we have?
Currently we have Pallets, Windows, Breakable Walls & the Steam Valves on nostromo.
What other environmental/map specific interactables would you like to see? specifically stuff that can add to the "cat & mouse" feel of dbd.
Things i would love to see:
- Gaps in walls survivors squeeze through: counter for killer could be making them breakable into holes.
2. Massive horizontal ziplines: only for some maps (like steam valves w/ nostromo) usable for both sides
3. vertical ziplines/ladder: self explanatory
4. crouch spots only survivors can fit through (think like a top half of a breakable wall)
what other cool things could be interesting if added properly?
Comments
Crouch spots could also work as ‘sliding under’ when sprinting.
My suggestions included throwable items that would Slow the killer down just a bit (no direct stun). Stuff Like big vases/pots. Think Sam when she first encounters the Psychopath im Until Dawn.
other could be roots or Entity tentacles that survivors may stumble over (but still visible/avoidable).
not sure ziplines or ladders would work . This game keeps everything grounded . Even ghoul and venca are not actually flying as they move around. Elevation is very limited in dbd.
just depends where they add them. think like one connecting from pale rose boat to edge of pier. would ad cool elements
NGL, portals on Forgotten Ruin, steam pipes on Nostromo or openable doors on Gideon make those maps quite unique and if more maps get those unique mechanics I wouldn't complain. Only map we got in last few years was Trickter's Delusion, which is one of my most hated maps on both sides.
I'd really like more stuff like the Elan says where maps have more hazards/interactables, game has so much potential
Also give tricksters delusion an elevation for goodness sake for perk value on both sides.
Breakable Floors - Similar premise to walls but it would allow the killer to pop up from above. They could just hop and stomp down to animate.
Breakable Pillars - These would act as a an in between of walls and floors but destroying them would alter a currently existing structure to collapse. Such as a floor being held up by a beam that turns into a ramp or perhaps a pillar collapses blocking access to a window but creates a ramp in its place.
Two Way Basement - A similar premise to the D&D portal on that one map but I feel like basement stairs should act as a portal to basement but each map should always have two exits. The basement doesn't change shape but the staircase is essentially a rift (Think Portal 2). It would give a lot of killers an alternative pathway across the map as well as survivors. Example - You enter Shack and come out of the main building in Ironworks of Misery.
I also agree with Rokku_Rorru about Tricksters Delusion. Could we just add some scaffolding around some buildings for survivors to climb with a ladder similar to the Hawkins Lab? That would be a quick solution that wouldn't require full building reworks and the placements of the scaffolding could be randomized because of it.
