Gamemode: Hopeless Exile!
After the Release of The Judgement! I see a Huge Potential of the Hopeless Exile could be a Last man standing Game mode!
New Game Mode Concept: The Hopeless Exile
This is a fast-paced, survival game mode for 4 to 8+ players set entirely inside The Judgment's Hopeless Exile sub-realm. It strips away traditional killer chases and turns Dead by Daylight into an escalating "bullet-hell" arena where your only goal is to survive the environment—and each other.
🏃♂️ Every Man for Himself: Sabotage & "Sandbagging" While you enter the trial with other Survivors, this is not a cooperative mode.
Players retain their physical collision, meaning you can block paths, body-lock, and "sandbag" each other into the path of oncoming danger.
"If a cluster of light beams is trapping you, pushing another Survivor into the way might be your only escape. The optimal strategy is to stay as far away from your teammates as possible to risk being trapped or sabotaged."
📝 Life & Health Mechanics Instead of health states: "Your life is tied directly to the UI elements already found in the game"
- The Hook Meter UI: Your remaining life is displayed using the standard hook progression bar. Taking damage from a light beam instantly subtracts a massive chunk of this bar.
- The Final Life: If your bar drops past the first stage marker, you are officially on your last life and close to elimination.
- The Soul Lamp: You can use your lamp to collect souls, which slowly refills your lost life bar. (Alternative Hardcore Rule: Remove the lamp mechanic completely so any damage taken is permanent).
⚡️⚡ The 4 Escalating Phases⚡️⚡️
Before the match begins, The Judgment’s ominous voice echoes through the realm to introduce the trial. The match then progresses through four distinct, timed phases. The longer you stay alive, the higher your rewards multiply:
● Phase 1: The Warning
-Hazard Intensity: The pillars and beams of Divine Light start out dropping very slowly. Over the course of this phase, they gradually speed up until they reach the standard speed currently seen in the live game. This gives players a gentle warm-up to find their footing.
-Reward: Standard Bloodpoint gain (1x Multiplier).
● Phase 2: The reckoning
-Hazard Intensity: The delay between the warning indicator and the actual strike shortens. Beams begin to rain down noticeably faster across the map.
-Reward: Bloodpoint gains are doubled (2x Multiplier).
● Phase 3: The wrath
-The Trigger: A secondary, threatening voice line from The Judgment plays in the background, signaling the shift.
-Hazard Intensity: The map becomes chaotic. Beams strike rapidly and leave very few safe zones, forcing constant movement.
•Reward: Bloodpoint gains scale dramatically (4x Multiplier).
● Phase 4: The Divine Execution (Absolute Maximum Speed)
-Hazard Intensity: This is the ultimate test of survival. The Divine Light strikes at a relentless, maximum bullet-hell speed with virtually no delay.
-Reward: Survivors who survive this chaotic phase are rewarded with massive progression gains (8x Multiplier).
🚪 The Endgame: Here are two different concepts for how the match could wrap up when only the top Survivors are left:
● Option 1: The Portal Escape
-The Intermission: The moment the second-to-last Survivor dies, the chaotic rain of light beams stops instantly, bringing total silence to the map.
-The Final Words: The Judgment speaks a parting phrase to the lone survivor: "You have learned your lesson... for now."
-The Portal: A unique, glowing portal spawns in the dead center of the Exile map. The final survivor can walk up and interact with it to officially escape back to the lobby, securing a massive "Sole Survivor" Bloodpoint bonus.
● Option 2: The Ultimate Survival (Hardcore / High-Score Finish)
-Phase 4 High-Reward State: Anyone alive in Phase 4 enters a high-reward state. This applies whether it is 1 or multiple survivors.
-The Last man standing: When only one Survivor remains, the beams do not stop. They lock into maximum-speed bullet-hell mode.
-The Per-Second Reward: The final lone Survivor earns an extra +5,000 Bloodpoints for every second they stay alive alone.
-The End: When the last Survivor dies, instantly liberated. "just like when a survivor uses a repent prompt to liberate a survivor" The Judgment echoes a last phrase while this is happening.
