P100+ Mastery System – Endgame Progression

Once a Survivor or Killer reaches Prestige 100, there is currently little incentive to keep progressing with that character. Some players continue using their P100 regularly, while others move on to another character because there is no longer a meaningful progression goal.

My suggestion would be to introduce a P100+ Mastery System, designed as a true endgame challenge for players who want to prove their mastery of a specific character.

Mastery Challenges

After reaching P100, players could unlock a new progression path based on a series of extremely difficult and long-term challenges.

These challenges should:

  • Only progress in public matches, never in custom games.
  • Require significant time, consistency, and skill.
  • Be directly related to the identity and gameplay of the character.
  • Encourage players to use mechanics, powers and perks they might normally ignore.
  • Be difficult enough that completing them actually represents mastery of the character.

For example, a Huntress mastery challenge could require the player to hit Survivors with Hatchets from very long distances a certain number of times, alongside other challenges involving precise or difficult uses of her power.

The objective shouldn't be to create challenges that can simply be farmed in a few matches. They should represent long-term achievements that players slowly work toward while playing their favorite character.

Survivor-Specific Challenges

For Survivors, this system could also bring more relevance to their three unique perks.

Mastery challenges could require players to complete difficult objectives using the character's original perks.

For example, instead of every Survivor having essentially the same progression once perks are unlocked globally, their mastery progression would reconnect them with their original identity.

This could also encourage more build diversity, because P100 players would have reasons to experiment with perks and combinations they might otherwise never use.

Exclusive Mastery Rewards

Completing a Mastery level should provide something genuinely recognizable.

Each major Mastery milestone could reward an exclusive cosmetic piece that cannot be obtained through the Store, Rift, Events, or Auric Cells.

For example:

Mastery I → Exclusive Head
Mastery II → Exclusive Torso
Mastery III → Exclusive Legs/Weapon

Completing the entire Mastery path would therefore unlock a complete cosmetic set representing the player's dedication to that specific character.

These cosmetics don't necessarily need to be extremely flashy. Their value would come from their rarity and meaning: when another player sees the cosmetic, they immediately know that the player completed that character's difficult Mastery challenges.

Why Add This System?

The main goal would be to give Dead by Daylight more long-term progression beyond P100 without simply increasing the Prestige cap.

Instead of P101, P102, P103 and so on, players would have meaningful objectives that test how well they understand their character.

It would give dedicated players another reason to return to their P100 characters, create more varied builds, encourage mastery of character-specific mechanics, and provide prestigious cosmetic rewards that actually represent an accomplishment.

P100 would no longer be the end of progression — it would be the point where true character mastery begins.

  • I think this could work, however the devs did state that they did not want to force people into the p100 grind. Then again I'm sure making every killer get the "new legacy cosmetics" could be fun.

Yeah, I see what you mean. The idea was more about giving each character more longevity rather than making P100 another mandatory grind.

Basically, if you already invested enough time to reach P100 on a character, you'd have optional long-term challenges that give you a reason to keep playing and mastering them instead of just moving on to the next one.
