Idea of how Behaviour could adapt Slenderman into the game
This is my concept ideia of how Behaviour could adapt Slenderman into the game, given that DbD director Mathieu Coté has already commented that Slenderman's traditional behavior does not easily fit into the traditional gameplay loop.
I think adapting Slenderman is simple; there is a Roblox game inspired by DbD (Before the Dawn) that did it. Slenderman's gameplay works as follows: he stays invisible, and you deal damage to players by manifesting in their field of view. In other words, you position yourself in front of an distracted player, appear for a few seconds, and automatically disappear; in that second, the survivor takes damage. Doing this twice downs the survivor.
However, that is too simple. Perhaps instead of simply dealing damage, it could be something similar to Sadako: accumulating madness, static, or mental disturbance (paranoia), making the survivor increasingly susceptible to "disappearing," just like in the original Slender lore. When the survivor disappears, they are teleported to another location, similar to the Upside Down from Stranger Things, which is the same map on a different plane (Let's call it 'the between'). There, Slenderman can hunt the survivor normally using his tentacles, and upon catching them, he places them on a hook. Then, that hooked survivor returns to the original plane of the same map, appearing on the same hook for everyone; from the perspective of the other survivors, the player simply disappeared and reappeared on the hook shortly after. To reset these stacks of paranoia, survivors must find the lost pages while trying to avoid looking at his manifestations. But maybe that's too boring and kills too much of the chase, so after the survivors collect all the pages, it permanently disables his invisibility, he gets a buff and tentacles to hunt. And if you don't get the pages, anyone with accumulated Paranoia won't be able to escape.
The beginning of the game is more difficult for the killer, and the end is more difficult for the survivors. Because the Killer will have a harder time hooking the survivor. YOU CANNOT DEAL DAMAGE, only accumulate static on survivors, they spend part of the match 100% healthy. But if you manage to abduct them to The between, that is where things get real for the survivor, because they might not be able to escape (or they can somehow, but it is difficult) and Slenderman in this plane is very OP. However, it is easy for the killer to increase the stacks on the survivors. You just have to appear multiple times in front of them, and the survivors do not know if you are coming or not, maybe just put a subtle warning that he is near, but they do not know from which direction.
