Killer Mission Upgrade System

The Killer receives a mission at the start of the match that must be completed to earn an upgrade.

The mission can be:

  • Hook X number of Survivors.
  • Down Survivors using your power.

Once the mission is completed, the Killer can receive one of two upgrades:

  • Unlock a fifth perk.
  • Upgrade their power and unlock a third add-on.

Both the mission and the reward can be selected in the lobby before the match starts.

Example

For The Legion, the mission would be to down 1 Survivor using Feral Frenzy.

The reward could allow Legion to down a Survivor after stabbing 3 Survivors instead of 4.

Personally, I think that would be overpowered, so I propose that when you hit someone while in Feral Frenzy, the ability timer is not fully refreshed. Instead, 5 seconds are added to the remaining duration, without exceeding the maximum duration of the ability. Additionally, the movement speed gained after each hit would be reduced from 0.24 m/s to 0.12 m/s.

You can also see Scratch Marks.

Another Example

For The Trickster, the mission would be to reach Rank S twice. The number of points required to reach Ranks A and S would be 2.

The reward could be:

While at Rank A:

  • Base movement speed becomes 4.6 m/s.
  • Maximum blade capacity increases from 36 to 44.

Upon reaching Rank S:

  • Base movement speed becomes 4.8 m/s.
  • When using Main Event, if you have injured Survivors twice, you will be downgraded to Rank B.
  • The blade laceration meter is increased to 7 blades required to damage Survivors.

Personally, I would reduce the blade throw speed multiplier at Rank S from 1.275x to 1.245x, while also adding penalties for being at Ranks E and D, such as carrying fewer blades and having a slower throwing rate.

After receiving the upgrade, the rank system is updated and grants the following benefits.

Note: Only the maximum blade capacity, throw rate multiplier, and the number of points required to reach each rank are updated. Everything else, such as reload speed, rank duration, etc., remains unchanged and is not shown.

Rank E

  • Maximum blade capacity: 26
  • Blade throw rate multiplier reduced from 0.95x to 0.85x

Rank D

  • Maximum blade capacity: 32
  • Blade throw rate multiplier increased from 0.85x to 0.92x

Rank C

  • Maximum blade capacity: 36
  • Blade throw rate multiplier becomes 1.05x

Rank B

  • Blade throw rate multiplier: 1.13x
  • Points required to reach Rank B increase from 3 to 4.

Rank B

  • Blade throw rate multiplier: 1.13x
  • Points required to reach Rank B increase from 3 to 4.

Rank A

  • Blade throw rate multiplier: 1.20x
  • Base movement speed: 4.6 m/s
  • Maximum blade capacity increases from 36 to 44
  • The number of points required to reach Rank A increases to 4.
  • You can activate Main Event with:
    • 1.37x throw rate multiplier.
    • 6.5-second duration.
  • Once Main Event ends, you are downgraded to Rank E.

Rank S

  • Blade throw rate multiplier: 1.245x
  • Base movement speed: 4.8 m/s
  • The blade laceration meter is increased to 7 blades required to damage Survivors.
  • The number of points required to reach Rank S increases to 5.
  • When using Main Event, if you make survivors lose 2 health states (example, 2 survivors from healthy to injured or 1 survivor from healthy to dying state), you are downgraded to Rank B. If the condition is not met, you are downgraded to Rank E.

Some people who read this may disagree with the mission reward examples. However, I believe that most Killer mains would agree with implementing a system that rewards players simply for hooking Survivors or using his power efficiently, without requiring additional conditions.

With this system, I would expect lower-tier Killers to be played much more often, creating greater variety when facing them as a Survivor.

I would also suggest nerfing A-tier and S-tier Killers, since they do not need this system in their current state, they are already quite strong. If every Killer were to receive this system, those high-tier Killers would need to be nerfed accordingly.
