Possible chapters
Hey everyone! As a dead by daylight fan, I wanted to share a complete, master-level blueprint for three heavily requested horror chapters: The Wendigo, The Infestation (Splinter), and The Operator (Slenderman). My primary design goals were to bring back true survival horror, introduce vertical map mechanics, and reward high-skill mind games.⚖️ The Balancing Philosophy: The "Double-Blind" RuleTo ensure these concepts are competitively viable without being frustrating or broken, every Killer balances their high-mobility and stealth mechanics using a strict Double-Blind system:
- Killer Restriction: The second the Killer activates their power, they are afflicted with the Blindnessstatus effect. All killer aura-reading perks (like Lethal Pursuer or Nowhere to Hide) are completely disabled.
- Survivor Restriction: While the power is active, the Killer gains the Undetectable status effect. This renders them 100% immune to all survivor aura-reading perks (like Alert or Wiretap).
- The Result: Both sides are forced to turn off "perk handholds" and rely purely on their own physical eyes, ears, and headset audio.
🌲 CHAPTER I: UNTIL DAWN — THE WENDIGO (THE HUNTER)
- Playstyle: Hyper-aggressive, fast-paced map pressure and physics-based chase tracking.
- Visuals: An emaciated, elongated humanoid moving with jittery speed on all fours. Has a basic M1 claw slash.
- Flashlight Interaction: Due to its low-profile crawl model, its head sits too low to be easily blinded. Survivors who try to shine a light break their stationary stance, flashing their white aura onto your screen for an instant pounce.
⚙️ Killer Power: Cannibalistic Curse
- Crawl Mode Stance: Drop to all fours to increase baseline movement speed from 4.6 m/s to 5.2 m/s. Activating this immediately triggers the Double-Blind Rule.
- Motion Blindness Tracking: Survivors who stand perfectly still, walk, or crouch turn completely invisible to your vision. Running or interacting survivors are highlighted in a bright white aura.
- Bloodhound Scent: To compensate for aura blindness, survivor blood pools glow neon-white on the ground. Healthy, stationary survivors emit a visible "Scent Cloud" mist that gets thicker the longer you stand near their hiding spot.
- Apex Pounce Attack: Charge a leap to launch forward at 9.2 m/s (up to 16 meters).
- The Wall-Latch Loop Bypass: If your pounce targets a flat wall, tree trunk, or high obstacle at an angle, you do not crash. Instead, the Wendigo instantly latches onto the vertical structure for a split second. From this high wall position, you can immediately charge and fire a secondary, redirected pounce downward to dive-bomb right over safe pallets and structures to catch looping survivors off-guard.
- The Crash Mechanic: Slamming into a wall or structure completely head-on will cause you to crash, instantly failing the pounce and triggering a 2.5-second stun animation where the Wendigo violently shakes its head and snarls. Striking a survivor who is trying to stand perfectly still inflicts the Exposedstatus for an instant down.
💀 Unique Perks
- Insatiable Hunger: Each time a Survivor is unhooked, gain 1 Token (Max 4). Each token increases your vaulting and pallet-breaking speed by 2/3/4%.
- Scourge Hook: Mimicry: When a survivor is placed on a Scourge Hook, all other survivors hear a fake terror radius and the sound of a survivor whimpering right next to them for 20/25/30 seconds.
- Hex: Isolation: While active, Survivors working on generators further than 32 meters away from a teammate suffer from the Oblivious status effect. [1]
🎬 Memento Moris (Situational)
- Standard Ground: The Wendigo pins the survivor, unleashes a piercing screech directly into their face, and brutally tears out their throat with its teeth.
- The Wall Smash: If downed next to a wall or tree, the Wendigo grabs the survivor by the ankles and violently swings them against the structure repeatedly until their bones break.
- The High Pounce: If downed while the killer is mid-air, the Wendigo dive-bombs onto the chest of the crawling survivor from above, crushing their ribcage instantly.

⛽ CHAPTER II: SPLINTER — THE INFESTATION (THE HOST)
- Playstyle: Methodical vertical stalking, environmental trap control, and intense jump-scares.
- Visuals: A grotesque, twitching body-horror creature made of mashed limbs and black spikes that can snap its own joints to flatten against surfaces. Has a basic M1 bone-spike thrust.
⚙️ Killer Power: Parasitic Mutation
- The Double-Blind Rule (Aura Blackout): The second you activate your power, crawl on walls, or use your dash, a complete aura blackout occurs for both sides. The Killer is instantly afflicted with the Blindness status effect (cannot see Survivor auras). Simultaneously, the Killer gains the Undetectable status effect, making you 100% immune to all Survivor aura-reading perks (like Alert or Wiretap).
- Contortion Dash: Trigger a 1.5-second bone-snapping animation that emits a loud audio warning across the map for fairness. Flatten against the ground, moving at 5.0 m/s for 6 seconds under the Double-Blind rule. You can slide seamlessly under dropped pallets and windows without slowing down.
- Surface Stalk Traversal: Aim at a vertical wall, tree trunk, or indoor ceiling and hold the active ability button to scale it. You move silently at 4.0 m/s while clinging to surfaces.
- Drop Strike Attack: Press the attack button while clinging to a ceiling or wall directly above a survivor to drop straight down, unfolding your spiked limbs to instantly injure them.
- Splinter Spores Hazard: Manually coat generators or standing pallets in black spikes. Survivors touching them suffer Mangled and Hemorrhage, and face a difficult skill check that can spread the spikes to nearby teammates.
💀 Unique Perks
- Forced Deformity: After hurting a survivor with a basic attack, any window they vault over within the next 15/20/25 seconds becomes blocked by the Entity for all other survivors.
- Bone Shatter: Dropping a pallet on the Killer causes it to instantly shatter into pieces. The Killer is stunned for an additional 1.5/1/0.5 seconds, but the loop is permanently destroyed.
- Genetic Takeover: Whenever a generator reaches 70% progress, it is blocked by the Entity for 10/12/15 seconds. Survivor positions are revealed by a loud noise notification.
🎬 Memento Moris (Situational)
- Standard Ground: Black spikes shoot from the creature into the survivor. You hear sickening crunching as the survivor's arms and legs violently snap backwards at unnatural angles. Black mold erupts from their mouth, leaving them a mangled permanent corpse asset.
- The Pallet Smash: If downed near a dropped pallet, the creature grabs the survivor's head and repeatedly slams it into the wood until black mold erupts from the splinters.
- The Wall Impalement: If downed near a wall, the creature slams its mass forward, pushing its own sharp, spiked bones completely through the survivor's chest, pinning them permanently to the structure.

📄 CHAPTER III: CREEPYPASTA — SLENDERMAN (THE OPERATOR)
- Playstyle: Map-wide mobility, objective scaling, and punishing survivor camera placement.
- Visuals: A towering, faceless entity in a pristine suit. Black, writhing tentacles erupt from his back during chases. Has a basic M1 tentacle whip.
⚙️ Killer Power: The Eight Pages
- The Double-Blind Rule (Aura Blackout): The second you interact with your power or teleport, a complete aura blackout occurs for both sides. The Killer is instantly afflicted with the Blindness status effect (cannot see Survivor auras). Simultaneously, the Killer gains the Undetectable status effect, making you 100% immune to all Survivor aura-reading perks (like Alert or Wiretap).
- Page Escalation Mechanic: 8 Pages spawn across the map's landmarks. Survivors can burn them at pyres to remove your teleport targets, but every page destroyed permanently powers you up:
- 1-2 Pages: Baseline speed increases to 4.7 m/s.
- 3-4 Pages: Teleport cooldown slashed by 4 seconds.
- 5-6 Pages: Survivors build Paranoia 50% faster; screen static thickens.
- 7-8 Pages (Endgame): Gain permanent 5% Haste, all survivors are permanently Exposed, and you gain zero-cooldown teleports.
- Quantum Dislocation Traversal: Execute short-range, line-of-sight blinks up to 32 meters away (10-second cooldown baseline), or open a map overlay to warp directly behind any remaining Page on the map under the Double-Blind rule.
- Gaze of the Operator Attack: Survivors who center their camera on Slenderman within 24 meters fill their screen with video static and build Paranoia. Tier I causes Oblivious; Tier II spawns hallucinated clones that physically block loops; Tier III inflicts Exposed and temporarily inverts their movement controls if they look at you.
💀 Unique Perks
- Proxies of the Fog: Hooking your obsession makes all other survivors Oblivious for 20/25/30 seconds.
- Faceless Terror: Survivors attempting to read your aura via perks get a heavily blurred screen for 6 seconds.
- Hex: No Eyes: Completing a generator blinds survivors from seeing hooked or downed teammate outlines for 45/50/60 seconds.
🎬 Memento Moris (Situational)
- Standard Ground: Slenderman stands perfectly still over the crawling survivor. Tendrils explode from his back, completely wrapping around the survivor. The screen violently erupts into pure, white video static. When the static clears 3 seconds later, Slenderman is standing alone and the survivor is completely gone.
- The Tree Grab: If downed near a tree, Slenderman's tentacles lift the survivor high into the branches, hanging them upside down as static flashes over their dying face.
- The Camera Stare: The camera perspective shifts directly into the survivor's first-person POV. Slenderman glides directly up to the lens, tilts his faceless head, and the screen permanently cuts to black.
📦 Featured Add-ons
- Camcorder Battery (Brown): Increases thickness of screen static on survivor screens by 15%.
- Child's Drawing (Brown): Decreases baseline Quantum Dislocation cooldown by 0.5 seconds.
- Static VHS Tape (Yellow): Survivors build up Paranoia 15% faster when looking at you.
- Rusty Pocket Knife (Yellow): Teleporting to a Page inflicts nearby survivors with Hemorrhage.
- Proxy Mask (Green): Tier II Paranoia clones become physical assets that block survivor movement at loops.
- The Ninth Page (Green): Spawns a fake page that explodes into static and forces Tier II Paranoia when touched.
- Burnt Tree Bark (Purple): Removes Page map warp. Increases short-range line-of-sight teleport range to 45 meters.
- The Operator Symbol (Very Rare / Purple): Tier III Paranoia survivors cannot vault or drop pallets while looking in your direction.
- Iridescent Page (Iridescent): All 8 pages start destroyed (permanent Absolute Manifestation), but baseline speed is locked at 4.4 m/s.
- The Faceless Photo (Iridescent): Tier III Paranoia forces a survivor's screen completely pitch-black with static for 4 seconds.
🗺️ FEATURED MAPS (THE REALM BLUEPRINTS)
- 1. Blackwood Pines Forest (Until Dawn Realm): A freezing, snow-covered mountain woods realm at night. It features a massive, multi-level rustic wooden ski lodge. The map layout is packed with snowy cliffs and sudden drop-offs, allowing the Wendigo to launch high-altitude pounces directly over standard survivor looping tiles.
- 2. Oakside Park Gas Station (Splinter Realm): A tight, claustrophobic convenience store and gas station lit by flickering neon signs, surrounded by pitch-black woods. The inside of the store features narrow shopping aisles and tight corner loops, providing flat indoor ceilings perfect for the Splinter to hide overhead.
- 3. The Oakside Woods (Slenderman Realm): A massive, pitch-black forest shroud packed with dense localized fog and a deep rocky quarry in the center. The open woods are an extremely dangerous "Dead Zone" with almost no pallets, favoring short-range blinks. The 8 pages randomly spawn across 10 iconic horror landmarks (like the Abandoned Restrooms or Water Tower) which act as safe looping hubs.
Comments
the Double-Blind is not a all match rule, it is map-wide passive to a temporary effect that only activates while a Killer's power is actively running.Additionally, I adjusted the Wendigo's baseline speed from 5.2 m/s to a balanced 5.0 m/s to prevent it from being overpowered. For the Splinter, sliding under loops went from having no penalty to reducing the remaining dash time by 2 seconds to ensure survivors have fair counterplay at loops. For Slenderman, the Page Escalation mechanic was completely rebalanced. Early-game baseline speed was nerfed from a massive 4.9 m/s to a manageable 4.7 m/s at 1–2 pages. The 5% Haste buff, permanent Exposed status, and zero-cooldown blinks were moved from the mid-game (5–6 pages) to strictly triggering as a high-stakes endgame threat at 7–8 pages. Looking at Slenderman gives a small, baseline screen static early on, which acts as a warning cue and fear builder before the severe tier punishments trigger. To make the mid-to-late game more intense, the 50% faster Paranoia buildup and extra thick blinding static are now gated behind the 5–6 page threshold. All the info in the post stays the same besides things in this comment
