How about adopting a system where player roles are assigned randomly in 2v8 matches?

Currently, in 2v8 matches, the waiting time for killers is excessively long, often reaching up to 30 minutes. This seems to be due to an imbalance in role distribution, as many players queue up to play as killers.

To address this, what if we first gather 10 players for matchmaking and then randomly assign 2 of them as killers? While the gameplay mechanics would differ, similar systems have been implemented in games like Werewolf, so it might be worth experimenting with.

What do you all think?

This system stopped me from playing friday the 13th the game and it would also stop me from playing 2vs8. If I want to play killer I want to play killer, and if I want to play survivor I want to play survivor, I hate being assigened randomly xD

People would just lobby shop until they got the role they wanted. It's an idea if everyone honored the role they were given, but not enough would to justify it.

It would be better if it was optional.

For example, in a shape of a quick-play feature. You have faster queues, but you get a random role.

  • Since ppl wouldn't be mature enough to accept the role they get and would lobby dodge non stop,I think it would be nice as an optional queue (the quick play SoGo mentioned) with extra rewards such as iridescent shards.

  • Would absolutely be worth at least a PTB experiment. The health of the game would be improved quite a bit from the majority of players now experiencing both sides regularly
