Houndmaster isn't THAT bad
So after playing Houndmaster for a better part of the day, I can say that she certainly isn't D tier and she is far better than Skull Merchant. When Snug works, he works. You can down survivors fairly quickly, especially when you land both bites. Stbfl is also working really well with her knotted rope add-on despite it's nerf. I've also found that Snug can acrually be launched very quickly which allows for less time to react if you're going off the whistle. Speaking of, he whistle attack que doesn't always play, especially after a voice line. I'm unsure if this is for the survivor side as well but it makes even more difficult to react to Snug.
Overall, she is alright and can pass for C tier.
That being said she still has issues. Snug is still buggy and there's certain times when he simply doesn't work and it cost me out of a definite hit. Her lopping ability is kind of meh, but she does do better when the pallet is dropped though she still struggles at certain loops way more than others. She makes up for this by being able to zone, creating kind of 50/50 situations between using Snug for the redirect or not at all.
When it comes to her power, houndsense is still very underwhelming. The survivors glowing bright red certainly makes them easier to track through just about everything, but her deep wounds is near pointless. The best way to go about it is giving more benefit to Houndmaster for injuring someone affected by Houndsense, or downing someone with Houndsense. Maybe faster pallet breaks, or giving Snug an extra boost. A nice idea would be giving her a speed bonus for the next hunt pathing after downing a survivor afflicted with Houndsense. The chase filling with her excitement as she rushes to the next possible hunt.
Spitballing, but if you take the time like with any other killer, you will find more success than expected than none at all.
