The game mechanics kind of encourage bleeding survivors out. That is unfun and should be changed.

Maybe a hot take but the game encourages bleeding out survivors. Lets take a scenario that I had a few games ago. The Killer (me) has one kill and downs the remaining three Survivors, and two of them have no hook stages. In my scenario I hooked them because it is usually faster and it gives more bloodpoints. Lets say you only cared about the kills tho (if people only cared about bloodpoints, every game would be a farming game with 5 bloodpoint offerings), getting a 4k usually feels better than trying to get a 4k but only getting a 3k instead.

If the Killer lets them bleed out the only tool survivors have is Unbreakable, which picks you up without endurance or anything. If the Killer picks up then they have Deliverance, Strength in Shadows, Flip Flop, Boil Over, Power struggle, Slippery Meat, Up The Ante, luck offerings and even without all of that a roughly 22% percent chance that at least 1 of them unhooks themself. (six 4% attempts)

That makes bleeding out way more consistent if all you care about is kills. Now, I am not knowledgeable about game design to find and easy and good solution, but I still feel like that should change.

  • It very rarely happens. Most killers also don't have the map presence to ensure every survivor stays down, on top of it not proccing any of the game stall perks.

  • It's not more efficient, mainly because you cut yourself out of best slow down perks. It's also not time efficient, because survivors can't give up.

If you happen to face buckle up / MFT, then it will get way harder to do.
Most killers can't snowball that well to call it even remotely consistent.

Issue is there are things in DBD, where bleeding out is only answer other than giving up and let survivors leave.

I am not talking about bleeding out as an initial gameplan. I am talking about scenarios where you happen to get everyone on the ground for one reason or another, which does happen in normal games from time to time.
