Dead by daylight should take inspiration from rainbow six seige.
Character portraits, character backgrounds, all different ways of customization. Like alpha packs, dbd can do something similar with old rift stuff in those packs.
Side note: character select feels overcrowded and needs an update. Have everything shown at once without scrolling please. Just food for thought.
