Improving The New Player Experience...
Tutorial Overhaul...
The Tutorial is completely lackluster and needs some improvement:
- Tutorial should not be mandatory but it also should not be something that can be easily skipped over. Locking characters behind the Tutorial is a decent idea but I think it should maybe be put to the top of the menu rather than towards the bottom to help new players.
- Tutorial overall should be overhauled again, maybe it can show the aspects of looping a bit better so new players are more likely to use the resources they have available rather than (in most cases) just ignoring them. The idea here is to set people up for success rather than for failure.
- Show off that there are many ways to play, stealth can work, but distracting the Killer can also work as well, both should be equally highlighted.
Post-Tutorial Content...
Completing the Tutorial should be more rewarding. I think completing it should maybe provide a duration-based Bloodpoint Bonus to all their matches, this can also help new players transition into the game since they have to play less "catch-up" compared to veteran players.
I also think maybe a set of challenges that provide Bloodpoints to new players can also help with boosting them forwards while also forcing them to engage with mechanics the game has.
For Survivor:
- Stun the Killer 5 times; 50k BP
- Last 800 seconds in chase; 110k BP
- Use Vault Locations while in a chase 15 times; 50k BP
- Repair Generators for 5 Generators worth of progress; 40k BP
For Killer:
- Break 5 Pallets while in a chase; 50k BP
- End a chase in less than 60 seconds 8 times; 110k BP
- Break Generators 20 times; 90k BP
Values of the BP can be changed to better fit what BHVR things is more appropriate.
Encouraging Activity and Learning...
First Match Of The Day Bonus should be buffed, since currently it only affects XP/Account Level.
- First Match Of The Day Bonus will provide x2 XP for the first match that someone plays.
- If the Bloodpoint Score is below 15k, the FMOTD Bonus will be pushed to the next match, this will act like a mini-insurance policy for the bonus so you dont lose out to events that may be out of your control.
- Bonus (as it currently works) applies to both sides separately, so you will have a bonus for Survivor and Killer, completing one role's FMOTD Bonus will not affect the other role's FMOTD Bonus.
The Daily Ritual will be overhauled to encourage people to play in unique or interesting ways.
- Survivor Rituals should maybe give them a perk loadout that they must use to complete it, making them learn how perks work and how to use them as well as creating more diverse gameplay. If they do not have access to the perks, they will still be given the perks for the build. (This can also be given to Killer Rituals as well.)
- Daily Rituals will also receive a bonus in the amount of Bloodpoints they provide, this bonus goes away after 48-hours to provide more urgency for completing them.
