Add the stack penalty when damaging a generator

We can see that the survivor quads in the current game are making the gameplay unbalanced. In particular, hiding-squads can cause generators to be repaired too quickly, regardless of generator damage from the killer.

Imagine when a bunch of players hang around a generator, especially the last one generator. After the killer damages the generator and leaves, or chases a survivor, the remaining sneaky survivors simply click the generator and continue to repair. The time it takes for the killer to return and damage the generator again apparently helps the survivor repair the generator faster than the damage the killer damages. So hopefully the game will stop clicking for hiding-squads and increase the damage penalty on generators.

Suggested changes:

1. Adjust regression penalty

We can clearly see that the regression rate is very slow, it seems meaningless for survivor squads. Especially when the machines are far apart, this mechanism is almost useless.

Generators regress at a default rate of 0.25 c/s, taking a maximum of ~360 seconds to regress from 99.9... to 0 %.

So let's change the regression mechanism a bit so that it happens continuously for survivor squads. At the same time, it gives the killer time to return and take control.

A damaged Generator will start to slowly regress until either a Survivor resumes repairing it

change to:

A damaged Generator will start to slowly regress until either a Survivor resumes repairing it by 5% Progression continuously. (There will be no regression during the repair process)

This change means that in order to disappear the regression, it is necessary to continuously repair the generator by 5% and not let go, if you let go, the regression will continue and the value of the generator repair done will not be charged (they need to fully fix 5% back)

2. Increase the penalty for causing damage

Many survivors crowded together cause the generator to interrupt the regression process continuously, and it only takes 2.5 seconds for a survivor to get 2.5% Progression, so this penalty is quite weak. So let's strengthen the stack damage penalty.

Background Change: The Killer's damage causes damage to the wires inside the generator, and it will be further damaged when the Killer takes damage again for a short time.

Mechanism: Damaging the generator causes to immediately lose -2.5% Progression.

change to:

Damaging the generator causes to immediately lose -2.5% Progression and gains 1 stack for it for 60 seconds. Each stack causes the generator to lose additional -2.5% Progression. (Unlimited number of stacks and time reset every time generator damage)

Hope to relieve the pressure on the killer's generator when dealing with survivor squads, especially hiding-squads.

Comments

  • that just buffs skull-merchant 3 gen more and increases reward to 3 gen.... for 60 minutes.

  • I miss the days when kicking gens 'took too much time' and killers focused on being in chase as much as possible. I never expected that 'gen kick simulator' would be so popular.
