I've noticed something about Skull Merchant and Knight
It's just Circle of Healing
Except it's unfavorable to survivors.
This is the meta now.
The ever boring as hell meta.

That's quite the leap, especially on the Knight.
That does put something to mind though: it could be an interesting buff to Skull Merchant to have the drones emit a terror radius. It'd give her synergies with some niche perks.
You need to elaborate on that one.
I saw a less known streamer point this out too, but…more clearly. They don’t mean CoH, they mean boon totems, it’s just CoH is so common they are probably calling all boon totems that. Also im not adding Knight. SM is basically just dropping movable boon totems around the map. Once it was pointed out to me, I couldn’t unsee it lol.
Just area of effects that bring different ways to affect those inside, based off add-on build.
CoH is at its strongest when it's placed in a generator dead zone. A place a killer would never go to unless they've already practically won the game, don't know how to play, or don't care about throwing the game.
Typical (and the only right way to play to be honest) Knight and Skull Merchant play styles revolves around selecting the easiest to defend gens and defending only those gens, refusing to leave them at the expense of all other gens on the map.
Both are about making a zone on the map where if the other side goes into it for too long, then they lose.
I specify CoH because it's the only perk that doesn't require the killer to be nearby to get the most value out of it. Dark Theory and Shadow step can get some use out of the killer not being there but is much more useful in a chase, and unless the killer downs you near it often enough you might get Exponential value one time in the best situations.
.... but doesn't that comparison fall short when it comes to that last aspect you mention:
"Both are about making a zone on the map where if the other side goes into it for too long, then they lose."
The killer doesn't want to hunt down the coh placed in a deadzone; they have no business being there and thus aren't there.
Survivors however have to go into the drone area for prolonged periods of time.
... So, to me it kinda looks more like a "god boon" on steroids; one that can get rebooned within two seconds after a neglible cooldown if it had been snuffed.
I don't think so.
Survivors have to go into the killer zone to win, and survivors will do everything in their power to make sure the killer has to go into their zone to get a hook. Killer might get damage in, but now you have to hit them a second time, and there they go zip zooming to their side of the map.
