Improve the Matchtime to Playtime Ratio
I don't know the actual numbers but it certainly feels like I spend more of my DbD playtime either in lobbies waiting for the next game or spending bloodpoints than actually in DbD matches. I imagine this is true for the majority of DbD players.
Here are my suggestions to have players spend more of their time in matches:
1: Make Bloodwebs Faster
In other games levelling characters is usually far more engaging and more impactful, but this is not the case in DbD. In DbD for most players it's mindlessly pounding out the bloodwebs as fast as they can because they usually already have everything they need for the next match and spending extra time in the bloodwebs changes nothing.
It's not like we could watch a video and just click, we actually have to look at bloodwebs to do them which makes how bloodwebs currently work truly tedious and unenjoyable.
They are just unnecessarily time-consuming.
2: Hide Prestige in Pregame Lobbies
It's pointless and only leads to dodging which increases wait times.
3: Remove the last 15 second Ready Up Lockout
It just leads to more time wasted in lobbies while serving no purpose.
4: Lock in All Survivor Loadouts when in Lobbies
If a survivor queues up for a match they should be ready to go. No more stupid 7 second switches which can cause killers to Alt-F4 on the loading screen which also leads to more wasted time not in games.
Killers are already locked in to their killer but should be able to respond to what they see in the lobby as they are still outnumbered. For example if they see 4 med-kits and want to put on Sloppy Butcher they should be able to, instead of only being able to take the match or dodge, which would lead to more dodging and higher wait times.
5: Lower Lobby time from 60 seconds to 30 seconds
If survivor loadouts are locked in there is no need for 60 second lobby times.
6: Allow Players in Matchmaking or in Lobbies to spend their Bloodpoints on Any Character...
...and not just the character they are currently playing. This would allow players to be able to much more effectively spend their non-match time. Being already locked in to their killer or survivor would facilitate this functionality.
With these changes I think players would be able to spend more than half their DbD playtime actually in matches and not spending bloodpoints or just waiting for the next match. I know I would find playing DbD less tedious and more enjoyable. This would make an already addictive game more addictive.
