Am i going crazy or?

A few hours ago i played a game where my fps which is normally always steady at 120 fps kept dropping to 60-90s every few seconds. I thought alright w/e and played a few more games and the problem seems to have magically fixed itself and my fps didnt drop a single frame.

So are subtle cheaters somehow able to ''make you lag'' or am i getting crazy?

  • Considering just how much Cheaters are able to do in this game, i wouldn't be surprised if they could straight up change your framerate

You talking about lag switching? It's quite a thing in DBD, at least it used to be.

They wouldn't be able to make you lag unless they hacked the dedicated server itself to get to your connection, before the dedicated servers killers could lag switch and it affected you but now it's not the case, but a hacker can buffer their own connection to a point where you see them running straight into a wall you go to hit them and they teleport across the map every time you get close

  • It's possible. I remember a game i had several weeks ago on RPD, hit a steve as he vaulted, he sprints away, i catch up and just before i smack him, i get a bit of lag and end up getting kicked from the match. I play on a PS5 and have had no issues prior to this, so i doubt that's the cause. Not the internet either, so 🤷‍♂️

I don’t mean lag-switching per-say, but something similar to it that changes your frames to whatever the cheater wants them to be
