Balanced Landing needs a Change
Balanced Landing is in an extremely rough spot as a Survivor Perk right now. Either you're going to get a lot of value because a map has multiple areas where you can drop off and activate it, or you're going to get no value because the map you're playing on is Shelter Woods.
This Perk is in dire need of a change to account for the lack of available areas to drop on in maps.
Personally, how I'd change it is like this, just because it would be a lot more fun for the Survivor to use and for the Killer to try and counterplay against.
Balanced Landing
An activatable perk using your incomparable agility and cat-like reflexes.
- Press the active ability button within 4 meters of a wall to quickly run up and along the wall, before jumping off of it in the opposite trajectory. This will lock you into an animation.
- Performing this action will always reduce your stagger duration by 50%.
After landing from a great height, or jumping off of a wall with the active ability, you benefit from the following effects while not Exhausted:
- Reduces your stagger duration by 75%.
- Suppresses Grunts of Exertion from falling.
- Grants the ability to sprint at 150% your normal running speed for 3 seconds.
Balanced Landing causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds for its secondary ability and a 30 second cooldown for its primary ability.
The secondary ability of Balanced Landing cannot be used while Exhausted.
Comments
Ah, on demand sprint burst.
The problem with balanced landing is the maps not having heights to use for it, not the perk itself.
Shelter Woods should have a treehouse or something in the center and not a giant tree that doesn’t add anything to the gameplay.
What if it was made non-exhaustion, lost its speed boost but kept all other effects (including no staggering from falling), and also removed scratch marks for five seconds after dropping from a height? Could have a cooldown too.
It's weird that Shelter Woods doesn't get a hill tile spawn despite MacMillan maps having a hill tile.
Shelter Woods in general just needs some actual changes so it's more than just jungle gyms and rock loops. Sadly the devs didn't do it when they did the realm beyond update a couple years ago.
Yeah, a hill tile would be nice. But I agree it could use some more changes.
Don't touch my BL. I love it the way it is. I agree shelter woods suck and tree house would be very welcome, but this perk is the only reason I don't cry when I see midwitch. Please don't touch it. Don't make second calm spirit like "buff".
