I was just curious as to how you go about choosing the next killer, is it a long discussion between potential franchises after each killer is released, or is something that requires alot of months prior before the killers release? I apologise if this seems a silly question, im just curious about the thought process before each new chapter.

    They have stated that work on a chapter begins 9-12 months before it releases - this shouldn’t include negotiations with license holders in case of licensed killers.

    as to licenses, they have stated that they reach out to license holder if they are interested (eg they have stated since the first year they wanted Pinhead/Hellraiser franchise so that took several years) - but they also get contacted from some license holders as DbD is a very popular game.
