2 matches and ive already seen the sad state

get camped every hook by sadako and she tunneled and camped at 3 gens left on the game, yeah bad map but extra time and buff to killer, then i go against pig with gf perk thrilling tremors i think, dying light, floods of rage and deadlock. why? the swamp was dead in the middle and this killer was dumb, gave up on chase or lost people before anything and would catch survs in a deadzone and still not get a hook, and only won for slugging at the 3 gen like 32 meter radius 3 gen straight line, so yeah our fault but that match my teammates were healing with traps on their head and i had to do basically every gen, this solo state is horrible and yeah im assuming tis bad after 2 games, but after everyone said all this bad stuff and instantly see it... whjat chance do i have to not experience this XD,

POPULAR OPINION: all slowdown perks on a killer now of all times = bad killer or someone who is just sadistic

  • so yeah our fault

I mean, you said it yourself. Your team allowed the killer to get a 3 gen and made bad plays. Sometimes you get matched with bad teammates, that's DBD.

You're also playing after the biggest perk shakeup patch in DBD history, at least within the last 2 years if not ever, which means everyone's MMR is all over the place. People who crutched on DH have higher MMR than they should, many killers have lower MMR than they should after the buffs, and -- surprise -- there's still survivors who don't know how to play the game. Coming back to the game after a patch like this and forming an opinion after 2 games makes the opinion easily discarded. Your MMR needs time to adjust, and it's not gonna do that in 2 games.

It's probably going to be a few more weeks at minimum until the MMR upset shakes out, and it's only going to settle for those who play consistently.

    Uh...

Okay, scenario 1 would have been infinitely worse prepatch, unless someone brought BT. Plus, it's a Sadako. Just trade if you have to. She's not a strong camper.

Scenario 2 - as you say, that was your team playing poorly.

Floods of Rage isn't a regression perk, Tremors is barely a perk at all. Dying Light is a bad perk. That Pig had a mediocre-at-best build. If she'd been running PR, Agi, FOR and DMS then yeah, that's nasty.

What the heck are PR and Agi? Agitation? Why would that be nasty?

lets be real for any of us who played for years can see... people dont change because games are easier and more fair. they take andvantage and also if mmr is screwed then no matter what the update is horrible for the game. it doesnt matter the rhyme or reason if my matchmaking is all over the place then every game is probably gonna be bad or at the least boring

Pain Resonance is probably the remaining 'outlier' regression perk, as it does tons of damage. Agitation allows you to set up PR hooks extremely reliably, and if you snowball even once, it can be GG right there. Add in Floods of Rage and you get super easy ambushes and, with traps out, DMS can mean that gens are getting constantly blocked as people have to save.

regardless this mmr crap needs to be fixed

  • Right now things are all over the place, but give it a few weeks and, especially after the incentives are enabled again, it should stabilize.

Not disagreeing that bad MMR makes bad matches. I'm saying give MMR a chance to adjust to all of the changes.

In my opinion, DBD's MMR should have a concept like RD from the glicko system. RD measures how often you play. The more often you play, the less your rating moves (because it's had more data about your play); conversely, the less often you play, the more your rating moves (because it's had less data about your play, so your rating is less certain). When there's a big patch like this they could reset everyone's RD so that ratings adjust more quickly.

Static rating adjustments (like +10 if you escape or -10 if you are killed) can in theory be accurate, but require a huge number of matches to settle near your "true" rating. It's a linear-time adjustment. Systems that take into account frequency of play can be just as accurate in logarithmic-time. For example, a static rating adjustment in a pool of 100k players will take many thousands of games per player to sift everyone into their respective brackets; in the same-size pool, a good system taking into account frequency could probably do the same in under 50 matches per player.

i could definitely see that, most of the better players have longer times so that could work but i think they are gonna stick to this system

A static system is conceptually "fair" to a lot of players as well, and is also much easier to implement in a system with more than two players. With five the math gets pretty complicated pretty fast. For survivors, it's not only "did I escape" and "what's my rating and RD compared to the killer" but you also have to consider teammates -- if you were the top-ranked player and lost then there's the argument that everyone else pulled you down, so maybe you shouldn't lose as much rating. If you were the killer and 2k'd then we have to consider the rating of those who escaped vs those who didn't and what that means.

Basically it's a hell of a lot more complicated to work out, but it's way better if you can do it. (I doubt BHVR employs statisticians who can spend all day figuring it out, sadly.)
