How would people feel about more incentives?

I've been thinking since the talks about Incentives for playing a certain role that we should have significantly more incentives that would encourage others to play differently.

Say you're on the killer selection screen, and BHVRs algorithm has seen that only a few people have played twins in the last couple of hours, and that if you play your next game as them, on top of the incentive you're getting for playing Killers as the queue is low, you also get a 75% bonus for playing as the Twins.

Or, not many people have been running X perk, like Diversion for example, and offering you a 25% increase in bloodpoints to run that, or even a "build of the day" where running that build would give you 50 - 100% more BP, it would also give killers an idea of some of the perks survivors would be running that day and allow them to set their builds up a little differently if they so wanted to.

The BP economy is old, and I think we need to move away from restricting bloodpoints, so what if huntress has enough bloodpoints to run Iri head 50+ games in a row, or survivors can run Flashlights etc whenever they want, they can basically do that anyway if they main x survivor or x killer.

Reward those for doing something different.

  • You can't force people to play killers or builds that they don't want to. That would the same as Call of Duty saying today you can only use X weapon, that would be bad, it's either a decent but not great weapon, a bad weapon nobody uses or an OP weapon you're gonna see everyone use and complain about it. Same thing would happen in DbD, people only play certain killers for a reason and certain builds for a reason.

BP incentives won't make people play things they don't wanna play. Why would i play Twins for example if i can just use BBQ on my favourite/better skilled killer?

  • I would really like that honestly.

A build of a day sounds fun.

And a 75% boost to bloodpoints would def help less people pick a certain character.

BUT then again that would be a bandaid fix - these killers are played less for a reason

  • Sounds okay to me.

I mean, there is no "forcing" here, I have no idea how this is "forcing" anyone, it is giving an incentive to play certain things, and what's better than 100% bonus BP from BBQ and chilli? a 100% bonus from BBQ & Chilli + 75% from playing a character that hasn't seen many games today.

    Are incentives a band-aid?

There are people that main every killer and do pretty well the majority of the time, I think a big issue with killer mains (not trying to hate) is they want to be a jack of all trades and be good with every killer without actually spending the amount of time it takes to learn some nuances every killer has, but in my opinion most people should be mediocre/ below average with every killer instead of every killer being strong enough that everyone is above average, and then if they wanted to perfect a killer they could spend that time playing that killer mostly.

  • Incentivate with shards and we're talking

  • Sure why not. Especially if we can encourage people to use lesser-used perks for the sake of more variety, I don't see any issue with that.
