Ruin needs a buff or a change

I know this is a touchy subject but I feel like I should discuss this.

Call of Brine a perk that allows the killer to kick the gen and let it regresses 200%. Which in my opinion is pretty good.

Ruin a hex perk that effects all the gens with 200% regression. Now kinda weak in my opinion. I suppose a change where ruin does the regression to 250% and added bonus of regression of a gate. Or change it back like it was before.

A hex perk has to be stronger then an non hex perk.

  • I would personally argue that the reason Ruin may come across as weaker than Call of Brine is because hexes are weak, not because Ruin is weak.

You don't have to kick a generator, it's constantly active instead of on a timer, and it applies to all generators at once. On paper, it's much stronger than Call of Brine- except for that hexes are in a bad spot and get cleansed incredibly quickly in a lot of games. Ruin itself is fine, hexes are the thing that need a little love.

  • Old Ruin should back. At least we can use Ruin with other slow-down perks.

  • Totems spots need to be better. That's all tbh.

  • I think Ruin should do less damage to generators. 200%? Passively? I’m surprised it hasn’t been nerfed yet.

Old Ruin should never ever return. It was a terribly designed perk:

    • WAYYYYyy too oppresive for new players.
    • Had zero effect on experienced players.

Disagree. It was one of my fav perks. And i disagree again, it was strong against good survivors too. I loved to use Impossible Skill Check builds. It was strong against most of teams.

If you could consistently hit great skill checks, like most experienced survivors can, then old Ruin had zero use.

The main thing I remember from old Ruin is loading into matches and having my teammates instantly DC as soon as they saw the red skill checks lol 💀

Well i used it on Doctor with Huntress Lullaby. It was pretty fun and strong build. But ofcourse BHVR ruined it.

Yeah, I liked the old version too, probably because old ruin helped a lot of non-mobility killers and could hold the generators a lot, new ruin is good, but only if you're a killer who can put a lot of pressure on survivors.

  • Call of Brine only lasts for 60 seconds when you kick a gen and requires you to kick a gen to get it's effect. No extra regression if you damage a gen with Surge or Pain Resonance.

Ruin can synergize with Surge and Pain Resonance since they damage gens even if they are regressing and doesn't require you to waste time kicking gens. Of course it can be removed if survivors find the hex which isn't hard most of the time. But permanent 200% regression with no kicking condition tied to a single hex totem doesn't really need a buff. Call of Brine honestly won't see much use since it doesn't particularly work well with other slowdown perks and still requires you to kick gens.

  • The problem isn’t Ruin, the problem is totems that are easy to see and that survivors spawn next to.

Boons also indirectly nerfed hexes because survivors are more likely to want to look for totems anyway.

  • Ruin doesn't need the Gen to be kicked for the Regression to happen

Call Of Brine does need the Gen to be kicked for the Regression to be applied

Big difference... Plus Ruin is already strong (which is why it goes down in the first few minutes of a match... so Killers bring other perks to compensate for Ruin's removal)

  • Bring back old undying but without the aura reading on hex perks. Hexes have become really useless and not worth the risk.
