DBD poor data collection reveals why the game balance is terrible
Looking only at kills/escapes is far too simplistic. There is an ocean of difference between a game where a killer gets 2 hooks that lead to 2 kills and a game where 8 hooks lead to 2 kills.
Data points should include : survivors taking injury (or power attacks such as nemesis whip), survivors getting knocked down, gens getting completed, survivors getting hooked, survivors dying, survivors escaping, doors getting opened, killer+ addons used, map selection, survivor items and addons used, MMR of players in the match, presence of SWF, and perk selection. Relevant factors should be timestamped as it does not matter if you know there were 23 knockdowns if you dont know when they happened.
Imagine for example a game of all new players and the killer hooks the first survivor and camps them to death. They repeat that process for the second survivor and everyone leaves.
With your data points this is the same outcome as a killer who goes on multiple chases hitting and hooking everyone with no tunneling who was in complete control but only got two kills with 8 hooks.
Only a fool would think these two games are equal experiences.
This type of analysis over 1000-10,000 games would give you a quick and accurate picture of how killers are doing.
