Christmas or yule or equivalent event idea
Santa Claus or equivalent can hand out gifts sorta like the Halloween pumpkins, with a chance of getting a you're on the naughty list note attached to a block salt instead of coal.
Also, if any such event needs to use a special event currency, that currency can be salt ... or tears...
Likewise, any such event that involves teams can have event jerseys for either team salt or team tears....
