Rework Stand-Alone Keys to Do Something

It's kind of unbelievable that BHVR basically made stand-alone Key's useless with the Hatch nerf yet didn't rework Keys to actually do something.

A stand-alone Key right now pretty much does nothing. I guess you can make the argument that if you are the last player and the Killer closed the hatch, you can go and reopen it, however no survivor is going to bring in a stand-alone key for that purpose

  • A stand-alone Flash-Light can still blind a killer.
  • A stand-alone Med-Kit will heal a survivor
  • A stand-alone map will reveal generators

A stand-alone key should also do something. Suggests:

  • Make it so Keys can "open" a chest that has been searched for another Item similar to Appraisal. Green gives 1 use, Purple gives 2 uses, Red gives 3 uses
  • Rework Keys so the automatically have the "Eroded Token" addon (See all player auras within 24 meters) built in, then rework the addons to have Killer and Player aura reading abilities, distance increases and time increases. Change the reading times to Green = 20, Purple = 25 and Red remains 30.
  • Or something else

Also, why isn't there a Yellow or Purple map? There are 3 of every other type of items, why not 3 maps also?

    I honestly think the hatch should spawn when all of the generators are done. It'd give survivors an alternate escape route without the ability to bypass the generators.

    Having basekit aura reading on keys would be nice, though.

    At this point, I would say the Hatch doesn't even matter. It was nerfed into uselessness, which I don't necessarily disagree with. However, now there's 11 useless items on the Survivor Blood-web taking up purple/red and green spaces that could be medkits, toolboxes or maps. Key need to be updated immediately.
