How the Lament Configuration Should Work
Lament Configuration
- When a Survivor picks up the Lament Configuration, their specific charge rate to cause a Chain Hunt on themselves will be increased by 250%
- Attempting to solve the Lament Configuration will reduce the amount of chains that try to latch onto you.
- During this time, the other Survivors' Chain Hunt progression will be reduced by 50% until the Lament Configuration is solved.
- Once the Lament Configuration is solved by a Survivor, the Chain Hunt progression is reduced to 0% and Survivors gain an immunity to Chain Hunt progression until the box respawns.
- While holding the Lament Configuration, Survivors cannot repair generators, cleanse totems, heal other Survivors or throw down Pallets.
- If The Cenobite activates his teleportation toward the Lament Configuration, then only 50% of the Chain Hunt progression is reduced and Survivors are immune to progression for 5 seconds.
- If The Cenobite downs the Survivor, the Chain Hunt will start immediately upon The Cenobite taking the Box.
- If The Cenobite picks up the box, the Chain Hunt will start immediately.
This is how it should have worked from the beginning. It's a fair risk-vs-reward ordeal where the reward is slowed progression of the Chain Hunt meter for everyone else, but the risk is that your Chain Hunt meter increases by a dramatic amount and you can't do anything else. You will have to be dedicated to the box or go down otherwise.

I kinda like this. Add to it that there is not a single good reason for survivors to be able to see the lament configuration map wide. They should only see it from like 20m at most.
