These Killer Changes Would Improve the Game
I'm going to save the lengthy explanation, but let's be real, a lot of this, and I mean a lot of this, is basically a necessity for all Killers in the game. Survivors have only been getting more and more buffed by the patch, so it's time Killers get their lovely QoL changes and universal buffs, too.
Killer Swapping
- Change: You can now swap your Killer while queueing for a game or while in a lobby.
- Personal Note: I don't care about the excuses that you would all have to make; this would be the single best quality of life improvement in the entire game, the scuffed upcoming MMR system be damned. There is no reason not to allow the Killer players the same privilege that Survivor players have over them, and it's not like the game would even remotely crash if this was implemented (unless this game is THAT poorly made).
- Again, I don't even care about the MMR system that should not be implemented whatsoever. I'd rather have this mechanic and not have MMR than to have MMR entirely. It would make for a much better gameplay experience that is very, very lacking for this game.
- There's no reason why Survivors can stay in an in-match lobby and be able to change their character, but when a Killer wants to change their character, they have to leave the lobby, select a new Killer and enter a new lobby of other people. It's completely unfair and antithetical to actual good game design. There are actual games out there already that allow you to change your character mid-match, let alone prior to the match beginning, so why the literal hell this game hasn't even had this lobby swap system for Killer implemented is beyond me.
Grab RollBack Removal
- Change: Grabbing a Survivor has now been reverted to its pre-5.1.0 iteration, removing the cause of various Killers using their Powers in unintended ways, including but not limited to instantly downing a Survivor unintentionally, or using their power which gives Survivors a significant amount of time to get away.
Stun Invincibility
- Buff: Killers now have a 10 second stun invincibility when stunned by a pallet, Perk or when carrying a Survivor. This is to ensure that Killers cannot be repeatedly stunned over and over again by various means.
- In addition, the Killer is completely invincible to stuns while in their stun animation, and the 10 second additional invincibility starts after their stun animation ends. This is to hopefully prevent various hacks from working on Killers.
Pallet Side Prioritization
- Change: When a pallet is dropped onto a Killer, the Killer is pushed in the direction their back is facing. This prevents Killers from unintentionally being pushed into an area that they would otherwise not be in.
Hex Perk Cleansing
- Buff: Hex Perks now take a base amount of 20 seconds to cleanse, up from 14. This allows them to be in play for longer than before.
Generator Damaging
- Buff: Generators now take 5% regression damage whenever they are kicked by the Killer. However, this is on a cooldown of 20 seconds for each individual generator that's kicked.
- Subsequent damaging of the same generator will now cause it to regress like it does currently.
Survivor Body Blocking Interactions
- Buff: Survivors can no longer prevent you from interacting with dropped pallets, breakable walls or hooking another Survivor by standing or crouching right behind you.
- Buff: Survivors can no longer prevent you from hooking another Survivor by standing in front of you and the hook. Instead, the game now prioritizes hooking the other Survivor.
- The only way to circumvent this is for the Survivor to sabotage the hook, which will prevent the hooking prompt to appear.
- Buff: The Killer collision hitboxes are now reduced in order to slightly circumvent Survivors attempting to body-block the Killer from their intended target. This helps reduce the chances of tunneling after unhooking and allows Killers to pursue the target they were wanting to go for at both the mid-game and endgame.
Survivor Carrying Priority
- Change: The option to pick up a Survivor is now prioritized over breaking a breakable wall, pallet or vaulting a window, in order to prevent the Killer from mistakenly doing any of the actions described.
Flashlight and Flashbang Priority to Killer
- Change: When a Survivor uses a Flashlight or Flash Grenade on a Killer when they are picking up a Survivor, the game now prioritizes the Killer's perspective when confirming or denying the save. This is intended to prevent various instances of Survivors being able to save their teammates in ways that seem completely unintentional and unearned.
Basic Attack and Special Attack Improvement
- Buff: Basic Attacks and Special Attacks now give Survivors a native 4 seconds of the Incapacitated status effect, preventing them from sticking to a generator or exit gate and finishing it while the Killer's attack is on cooldown.
- However, various Killer special attacks will not incapacitate Survivors, and those are only the ones that specifically do not grant speed boosts when hitting a Survivor, nor injure a Survivor outright.
- The only attack that doesn't injure Survivors initially but grants this status effect is Tentacle Strike.
Monstrous Shrine Mechanic
- Change: The Monstrous Shrine perk has now been removed.
- Buff: The effects of Monstrous Shrine now natively apply to Basement Hooks as a game mechanic. The perk wasn't good, so it's better to just completely scrap it and make it a mechanic instead to solve that issue.
- Buff: There's now one less perk to worry about in the Bloodweb.
No One Escapes Death Mechanic
- Change: The Hex Perk No One Escapes Death now only grants the Exposed status effect when the Exit Gates are powered.
- Buff: The speed boosting effects of No One Escapes Death are now natively granted to the Killer when the exit gates are powered, giving them a last ditch resort to try and complete their objective.
- Buff: The speed increase from the mechanic is increased to 5%.
Undetectable Status Effect
- Buff: The Undetectable status effect now prevents the perks Premonition, Alert and Spine Chill from activating and giving Survivors an unfair advantage against what is meant to be "undetectable".
Crouching Mechanic
- Buff: All Killers, with exception to The Nurse, can now crouch. This, however, does not alter their Terror Radius like it does for The Pig. However, using their various powers will cause them to stand back up.
- Buff: Now Survivors and Killers can have a teabag party.
Comments
Killer swapping is literally never going to come back, survivors should just not be able to change their character after the timer has reached a certain threshold.
Killers should also be able to lobby dodge when there's 5 seconds or less remaining in the lobby because of the last second item switch which prevents them from adjusting their build.
