Trickster's playstyle confuses me

I have A LOT of experience playing Trickster in red ranks and he has a very weird paradox:

Trickster needs to commit heavily to chases AND stay in a small area of the map.

Basically, he gets his first down and proxy camps the area because the knives can really ramp up quickly if they're used to interrupt a hook save. Camping is basically his only chance to snowball in any way and he loses all that potential when he leaves a hook, so attempting to do "map pressure" with him generally loses games hard.

Trickster's mechanics make him seem like a chase oriented Killer similar to Huntress, Deathslinger, Plague and Clown. But his optimal playstyle on anything but maybe Autohaven maps is more of an off-brand Hag/Mirror Myers.

  • Don't forget the fact that he's the only killer in the game who never, ever mindgames because it's more efficient to just walk at people and throw teeny little knives as you're coming around corners.

Depends on the loop. There are plenty of loops (or even entire maps) where the knives will decay quicker then you can consistently land them

Honestly, I haven't found any. Jungle Gyms, Killer Shack, buildings, you name it and it's quicker to just rely on corner shots (which might be the hardest thing in the game, it's like playing Deathslinger but having to be super accurate 8 times in a row to do damage). You get most survivors down in 30 seconds, maybe 40 depending on the surrounding setup.
