Reduce Billy's Rev To 1.5 Seconds Instead Of The Normal 2.5 Seconds

Take out his purple add-on and change it to something else and he would actually be able to do stuff in chases instead of being looped, windowed and t-walled to death. That's all he needs to be good enough to hold his own. Revving for almost 3 seconds while a survivor is at a loop is a guaranteed way to get looped to death or windowed to death.

  • its what old carburetor tuning guide and primor bulb did. they reduce his charge time by 40%.

    2.5*0.4=1

    2.5-1=1.5

your basically asking for old instant saw add-on to be base-kit. Its very doubtful that they'll ever revert changes to old gutted killers unless something magical happens. nostalgia of old billy...

Tinkerer was changed. Without Tinkerer, it's not insta-saw anymore and without the charge time reduction, he'll never be used again because any type of loop or window makes revving his chainsaw an easy escape against him. He's the only killer who gets harshly punished for using his power at a loop.

Even Leatherface can move in all directions with an insta-down and still break pallets with it. Billy moves in a straight line with a slight turn. Bubba is superior to Billy in every way except for distance. Billy even has a CD now. He doesn't need a 2.5 second rev time.

  • Maybe reduce it a small bit, but a whole second is too much.

That's og insta saw with og Tinkerer. But after the perk rework, instaw saw conventionally meant tuning guide + mix or sometimes primer bulb. And it could easily be used at loops. You couldn't escape that rev time. It was just that most insta sawers just back revved after sawing the pallet and then sprinting while zoning. It was a foolproof strategy due to better charge AND cooldown times. Unless survivors got a really stacked map and slammed gens like crazies.

Oh I completely agree, You rarely go against Billy now a days and what's ironic is that if you face a good billy, you can almost feel like the player whose playing Billy is struggling to challenge you as a survivor. Its like you hold all cards and he holds no cards. There's very little point in playing billy now but you could say that for a lot of killers in DBD. A short rev time is completely necessary for billy to have a chance at outplaying good survivors at loops.

As for Leatherface.... well he wasn't always this good. he just became good like any other killer would with few positive tweaks. I enjoy playing leatherface for the same reason i enjoyed playing old billy, he's one of the killers that rewards for understanding his kit and using his kit properly. Leatherfaces allows you to go for potentially 12 hooks against 99% of teams kinda how old billy allowed you to go for 12 hook-chase gameplay. If only the other killers... rewarded you for using their power properly instead of constantly punishing you with random drawbacks and extra steps...

  • No... just no.

Bubba's rev time of just 2 seconds is already pretty damn scary, I do NOT need to imagine Billy with Insta-saw. Ffs, pre-nerf Billy had a rev time of just 1.8 seconds and it was oppressive af, we do NOT need a rev time that's even shorter base.

That is true but the maps have been reworked and now he has a CD so he can't just feather infinitely anymore.

Holding a button down for almost 3 seconds to attack in a semi-straight line plus have a overheat mechanic so if you rev 5 times, you have to wait almost 10 seconds to even use the chainsaw again, seems a bit balanced for a slightly faster rev time. I just don't see why Bubba can do all of this with easy movement and multiple downs but Billy gets his only good add-ons removed and no one plays him anymore but everyone will say no one plays him anymore so we need to remove the overheat. It's NOT the overheat that ######### him. It's his rev time. I play Billy. You cannot cut off loops anymore. It just takes too damn long.

Billy's Rev time was always 2.5 seconds. Insta-saw was his best add-ons plus tinkerer.

    Billy has a default 2.5

He used to have charge add-ons.

Primer Bulb/Tuning guide reduced it to 2.1

BOTH of those together reduced it to 1.8

Notice that the 1 single complaint people had about Old Billy was Double Charge add ons a.k.a Insta-saw.

Yes, Old Tinkerer was an even stronger variant. That does not mean that 1.8 rev time on Billy's chainsaw is even remotely balanced or fair.

Alright. Let's NEVER play Billy again since he can't do anything outside of being in the open and let's keep making posts about bitching about overheat that doesn't really affect him in any way except for feathering too much in the open. Billy is fine then. Can't wait to play a thousand Spirits who literally break the game with no counters but Billy can actually try to feather around a loop to try and cut you off? Nah, that's unfun and unfair. Glad we got our priorities for killers in this game.

Overheat is just something the dev added to discourage "new players" from playing billy. The survivors don't really like it when the killer can threaten them. I am guessing they changed billy because rank 20-5 complained about him, so to discourage rank 5-20 killers, they added overheat .Playing survivor vs billy is just free pips in my opinion. I bet survivors would love if every killer was about as good as current billy.

You should know this from doom engraving add-on, but lowering charge time also reduces overheat because your charging chainsaw for less time. the dev changed killers like Billy and Freddy negatively specifically so that they never get played because survivors "do not like them". funny thing is that survivors just end up getting another killer on their hit-list after last one gets changed so its never ending cycle. you need to get survivor mains to say yes to improving the killer although most survivor mains don't like challenge and do not like "guessing" and billy chainsaw in regards to curving revolves around making reads and that was problematic in the past... apparently.

haha good luck getting survivor mains to admit that billy needs improvement like that grimreaperjr guy. sorry in my first post. I think the numbers were 18% and 18% for total of 36% and thompson mix was like 12% or something like that. 36% is like 0.9 so it was like 1.6. Its better to look at wiki for that history stuff.

Uh... have you heard of curving? That thing that makes Billy strong, allows using his chainsaw in loops, and is pretty much the entire point of using the thing?

  • also make the change his saw doesn't insta down if revved from a short distance, but instead deep wound. then you could let em chainsaw faster.

  • As an ex Billy main, hell no. This would be an absolutely massive buff that he certainly does not need. The only thing Billy needs is the removal of overheat, change the mods that effected overheat, and revert his weird animation and fov changes. Do that and Billy will become a fun high skill high reward killer again like he used to be, but without the bullshit add on combos he used to have, he'll probably even become popular again.

2.5 rev plus add-ons that increase his rev even more. I know what it is, I use to do it. That's why I mentioned feathering but most of the new loops, you cannot do it against good players. 4 seconds of revving makes that almost impossible, stifling it with overheat. I've been playing Billy for years on console.

When I used rev add-ons, I used them to help stop multiple loops stringed together. Without them, I've been platy for about a good month but without rev, you just can't use his chainsaw on most maps with the way loops and windows are adjusted now. If I got a corn map, I was golden. If I got Yamaoka, again, I was fine. Most other maps, you might as well M1 the entire match.

  • lol no please.

Hell, if they took the penalty from his engravings, he might stand a chance but the engravings were balanced around REV ADD-ONS. His add-ons just punish him for even using most. Hell, just add his Primer Bulb back and you'll see Billy's back in the wild. Something has to change.

If he catches you in the open, even without rev add-ons, you messed up. L/T wall him to death is the best way to face Billy because of his rev time.
